31st F.G.
1T1
If you’re interested in the 31st Fighter Group there’s a very good history of the group published under the title ‘In a Now Forgotten Sky’ by Dennis Kucera.
Published by Flying Machines Press 1997.
It’s got loads of info on the group’s Spitfire period and also it’s later P-51 and earlier P-39 history
I’m not certain the book’s still in print but it shouldn’t be too difficult to find.
Hope this is of interest.
All the best

Colt Closure.
Hi all
apart from the service personnel please spare a thought for all the civvy workers that’ll be made redundant when Coltishall closes.
Many local people have worked on the base in an area where well paid jobs are not plentiful. It’s the personal misery and worry that’s generated that w*nk*rs like Hoon don’t care about when they make their sweeping descisions.
I grew up not too far from Coltishall and I know it’s closure will have a big inpact locally.
I know this probably isn’t the place for a comment like this but for once I don’t care.

USS Carl Vinson.
Thanks for that CM
That B-25 had a bit more space to operate off a CVN than they did off the original USS Hornet.
Still very impressive though.
All the best.

It was a really Classic OW saturday night.
Thanks for posting.
Andy
Trainer Yellow….
I agree with Robbo
Now we’ve lost the yellow Tutor scheme at OW please keep your aircraft all over trainer yellow.
It’s my all time favorite aircraft livery.
Andy
Bearcat…….
Melv
nothing personal but I had a young woman with me at the time.
If my poor old memory serves me correctly even Stefan’s Bearcat display wasn’t top of my list of priorities at the time!!!
But I’m sure you were gorgeous too!!!! 😉 😉 😉 😉
Bearcat.
Melv
I saw that display too.
I reckon it was 1982.
Absolutley stunning.

Sorry to Hear…
Hi Lancman.
I was sorry to hear about your Grandad.
Please accept my condolences.
Your pithy posts are always welcome here.

Models.
Hi Andrewman.
I’m very sorry to hear your news.
Cats and large scale model ships are a constant hazard here.
Well one cat anyway.
I once saw her jump over a model of the USS Hornet without disturbing a single plane on the deck.
I quietly moved the model to a different location after that.
Andy 🙂 🙂 🙂
‘R’ Class.
Station357
thanks for that.
That’s a very handsome print indeed.
If I had more than a square inch of wall space left I’d consider that.
Cheers
Andy
