So far, the guest list seems comprehensive. The only people not attending are apparently ‘her indoors from Argie land’, a failed Welsh parasite who resides mostly in Brussels, who will be at the planting of a minor functionary in sheep sh*gging land, The Dagenham Girl Pipers and a small group of previously undiscovered tribesmen from the Amazonian basin.
Even the Argentinian ambassador is attending, perhaps celebrations could culminate in having him stoned to death..?

Well Jim, big funerals and big celebrations are the luxury of the well to do.
When we’re told every single day that we’re in the sh*t and I have to say I see plenty of evidence that we are, I think one has to question unnecessary
expenditure.

It’s got nothing to do with how I view the country as such.
I used to be and remain I believe a patriot (old fashioned term–and viewpoint) but before we waste anymore money, we should be thinking about how we’re going to put the pieces of the mechanism back together to make some money.

As an old boy I used to know in business used to say: ‘You can’t take more out than you’re putting in’.

I think if you get to the stage of counting the pounds, shillings and pence of funerals you will find it hard to justify the funeral service for Diana when effectively she was outside of the royal family at the time of her death.

Those that criticize ‘the cuts’ could look on the funeral as a short term government capital project to boost the economy.

My only criticism of the cuts is that they are not radical enough.
I think that makes me scarily Thatcherite.
But in my experience borrowing money has always been a short term expedient.

‘Life coaching’ in my case only requires you to stand in my workshop while I spanner a motorbicycle and listen while I put the problems of the country/World in their proper context–with suitable remedies.
If by 1100hrs I’m running out of people to have executed, we can put Jeremy Vine on the radio and there’s usually a rich harvest of potential public hangings on there.
My outlook is generally dark, intolerant and devoid of the trappings of the modern World.
I don’t heat the place because I find it hones my dark side better when it’s below freezing.
