Things I have discovered I neither need or want.

1) I-Phone or any derivative thereof.
2) Twitter
3) Facebook
4) Television
5) I-pad or any derivative
6) Kindle–It’s a gimmick, have you seen the price of second hand paperbacks these days? I can read for a year for twenty quid.
7) A big car–had loads–waste of money

The first six of these all these require electricity to run (farcebook and Twater, indirectly) which you are having to pay for at vastly inflated and no doubt fixed by the suplliers, rates.

I’m not ashamed to be working class, I’d far rather be working class than some stuck up tw*t who thinks he’s middle class because Margaret Thatcher allowed him to borrow a vast sum of money to buy a house he can’t afford, and live next door to a load of other pseudo middle class tw*ts, who’s only subject matter when it comes to conversation is the value (perceived) of their house–which is of course actually owned by a bank, and what type of 4×4 they hanker after. No, I’m happy to say that having a large chip on my shoulder about being working class is the thing that’s kept me going this long and I have no intention of getting rid of it soon.

One of the last remnants of the Celtic language, and you’d let it die out because it’s not English. Little wonder Plaid Cymru and the SNP are doing so well – keep it up!

I disagree and you obviously didn’t comprehend my post because I suggested Mandarin–not English.
How many Welsh people are there? Just over 3 million I’m informed. I know someone who is teaching English in China in a town with a bigger population than that, which none of us has ever heard of..!
Why spend valuable years teaching children a language which they can only use at home–a place they’re hardly likely to stay if they want a realistic living in the future??
Because let’s face it, it’s not spoken anywhere else and unless the politicians make some real hard decisions quickly, I doubt the Principality will become a powerhouse of World economics anytime soon.
Better to teach languages they can use when they go out into the World, and use to earn a living. A taxable living I might add, which will aid the economy.
All I can see that the Welsh and Scottish assemblies achieve is wasting (rather than generating) income.

Even the token Welshman on this thread doesn’t live there.

Yes Mark, I do–that’s why I started it.

Yes it might be beneficial to dispute every point, even the wording of every sentence.
You might not eventually win but you’ll make life a pain for them.
