Nice shots from a very different perspective. 🙂

If I remember correctly a couple of ‘peace wimmin’ managed to spray some graffiti on a U2 (at a RIAT?) Usually US aircraft are guarded by armed MOD police since 9/11. It was amusing to see their helios and F18 at Farnborough guarded by 4 such equipped police and yet two Eurofighter Typhoons had just a couple of pilots and ground crew talking to the public. Virtually all shows in the UK have crowd barriers around the aircraft them tho.

I’ve got to say that if this new building is by the M11 it will be the wrong end! The approach to the threshold of the runway surely be partly obscured during the curved approach of the warbirds. Also it will spoil the current ‘open sky’ effect for clear photos. If this is not considered important, ask the Shuttleworth photographers if the aerial mast spoilt the view.
I can see the new building next to the Land Warfare Hall. Access for the Paras drop aircraft would be passable. Most of the new style buildings would then be together and not engulfing the historic site.
I also think that ultimately the airfield (and perhaps the runway) will have to be extended into the field at the western end.

Nice first post and welcome.

The location is on top of a high cliff. Careful over the edge there is a railway line below. 🙂
On a clear day take your binoculars and imagine watching the bombers coming from France.

Certainly Bomber Command deserves a campaign medal, always did. I was fortunate to have known two men who survived more than one tour of ops. Both believed that Bomber Command had been forgotten when the medals were handed out, but not the blame.
I suppose we could try to petition Parliament to get one issued in time for the 60th anniversary of VE day. My pessimistic side says we are probably on a looser to the PC brigade, but there is an election coming up soon….

Your webshots are firing on all cylinders now John , excellent photos too. What’s a Lincoln? anything like a Lancaster but a bigger restoration job? 🙂

Very nice Paul! The sound came over good and commentators are part of airshows as well!

Great pics 🙂 nonetheless……………..strange to see the tornado with only one after burner on.
I watched them do this at Lossie a couple of years ago. Practice engine failure with wings swept back approach! One engine on afterburner to give go round power. Very spectacular!
