The only British Concorde ‘in bits’ is Delta Golf at Brooklands. When ASI have reassembled ‘AA’ at East Fortune they will be down to reassemble her. There is a merry bunch of volunteers working at weekends to clean and sort the ‘kit’ ready for them. See:- http://p077.ezboard.com/fconcordesstfrm11
More of all Concorde sections were produced there than any where else.
I signed the petition at Duxford yesterday. I joked wth them “No chance” but then did many believe that the Vulcan would ever have a chance to fly again?

the reason for the royal navy fuel bouser is they are running on 130 octane fuel and duxford could only supply 100LL so they bought their own.
On that subject, what is the likely availability of 130 Octane and similar fuels in the future? There can’t be many aircraft that use it, although I heard the commentator say the Fury uses a gallon a minute in the cruise!

Seems strange without nose art. 🙂

That low level shot is stunning.

I noticed a Royal Navy road tanker arrive at the same time as the Sea Fury. I wondered if they were taking extra care with the fuel. I also wondered at the quick return. The journey up from its base must have put more use in one go since its rebuild?

Never-less the museum is reopening next week and selling the tee shirt. 🙂

Picked up (and couldn’t put down) ‘Boy in the Blitz’ by Colin Perry. He was 18 and working in an office in the City of London in 1940. He kept a journal of what he saw and felt of that traumatic time. From the roof of his home flat in Tooting he watched Croydon airport being bombed and sat on Reigate hill during the Eagle day battle. The journey to/from work by any means because the underground was stopped during raids. the lack of sleep. Excellant read.
