I have long admired the efforts of the Aircraft Recovery Group in recovering the remains of our aircrew.
Some governments including our own do not encourage it even when the location is known.
I do feel however that we should give the MOD any help we can in locating relatives. I have spent many hours trying to piece together my family tree, With the mobility of people since the war whole families can have disappeared from their last known location. Several threads recently have produced info and photos from people who were friends or neighbours.

You will be pleased to know than someone in authority dosn’t think the Great British Public will take any notice of the Met police.
The motorway information signs on the M25 and M20 are warning of delays in the LHR area on Friday….

I wonder if the new ‘Euro’ regulations will cover new build warbirds? I think the JAA (now a different name) rules were supposed to mean that certification by one member state was accepted by them all.

Brooklands Museum has asked for a Concorde.
I have suggested before on these forums that as the two unconverted aircraft presumably cannot fly again, I don’t think it would be too difficult to move one in very large pieces the few miles round the M25.

I think the subject of captions and information is very important. The use of tape players was tried some years ago. I remember listening to a B17 crew describing what each crew station was like to fight from. With MP3 players now in common use, selecting a track for each aircraft could give complete details including engine sound and in many languages. Also please properly light the boards in dark places like the Land Warfare Hall.

If the 3 Concordes arrive on the westerly approach (from London)
onto 27R they will fly down the A4 (Bath rd) from about Gillette corner. Standing on the footpath, a good telephoto lens might even get two in. If they arrive together. If they land in that direction. IF…..:)

According to the 2002 VFR Flight Guide the airfield is still open but on request only. Two grass strips 540m & 755m. I found this entry in Bagby Aero Clubs site. See:-

Perhaps the gallery will be raised above the level of the pier roof.
That would be the reason to move the aircraft out of the way. It would give a pretty clear view from the runway round to the satellite. FX.

Certainly Heathrow & Gatwick (and I expect others here) have their fuel delivered by pipeline from the refineries. I expect they have some storage for backup, but a major burst or pump failure could spoil everyone’s day!
