What i don’t understand when these things happen is that now USAF will jump to sattisfy everyones question with public announcement that this or that caused the crash. Even if its most embarrassing reason. Why the hell the just not keep quiet about reasons their top technology fails. Im I just too soviet minded, and old school?
I do understand that some public disclosures are done to manipulate political decisions on budgets and business related next steps. Specially when they look forward to speed up retiring one bird and get funding for replacement.
but when it comes to F-35 or F-22, i just don’t get why everything is public about their failures!!!
enlighten me.
Thanks for the info and photos !
Those first two pics of two seater with fuel tanks on the outer pylons are quite interesting. I never saw fuel tanks not close to the fuselage on this plane. Also they look larger, maybe taken from Mig-23?
actually, i have seen it in 4 fuel tank configuration.
cheers
Guys, take it easy. And don’t get too sensitive, This is normal considering circumstances.
It is nothing unusual to find this a sensitive subject as Israel and US might attack Iran anytime. Or Iran might decide to open fire first. This incident of Su-25s firing at US recon drone is topic of the thread, so related to subject is not off topic.
Off topic is blaming one side or the other. This is not political forum, although as i said, Airforces are huge tool, if not the main tool in todays implementation of world order, which is politics.
This incident with Iran Su-25s and US drone is perfect example of escalation of this fact. Hopefully not to the point of war.
Maybe closing the thread is good idea, as not much else can be said about the particular incident. No new news.
On the other hand, I would love to see some most recent pics of Iran Su-25s, or news related to their abilities.
Are they taking part in current air defenses drills in Iran. Any info would be good.
thanks for decency guys!
Can anyone comment from my post #41
cheers
And here we are again! Love how these discusions about aviation allways end up as anti-American and anti- Israel tirades. 😡
🙂 Thats actually because AVIATION is directly and indirectly used for implementing political objectives and embargo since WWII.
This is why this thread was also created. But hopefully it will be more about aircraft themselves of today, than politics.
Any thoughts on what those Su-25s were carrying? Is it most likely just reconnaissance mission, with extra fuel tanks under wings and loaded cannons? Or more?
Any info on their shape since they were taken from Iraq? Any recent photos?
Do you think they got them up too shape of actual air to sea attack navy planes? I doubt, but Iran gets creative with rusty soviet era planes they got.
What i want to know is why Su-25s fly over sea, and not some other aircraft of IRAF? Are they armed to operate in some anti ship role?
congratulations.
I was the first to jump on it and express my disappointment in design similarity to F-22 and F-35, but i do have to say it is amazing how fast these guys are taking off with their new machines. Lookalike or not, This is indigenous machine.
money must be flowing like vino over there..
T-50-4 draws near, I can feel it in the air.
me too. I can smell new reveals with “4” rolling out. Maybe weapons bays open? !!!
It just seems unbelievable that single air force will fly Mi-28s and F-16s.
I don’t get this.
How come USA isn’t pressing Iraq more on buying western equipment, specially that they are already selling them F-16 in 2014. Now Mi-28s and Mig-29s??
Mi-28s and Pantsir S1 Anti aircraft systems are new equipment. Is Russia not worried that all the technology will be an “open book” to US once its in Iraq?
thanks for those photos. Very nice!!
Are they available in higher rez. anywhere?
thanks!
I am not sure about the authenticity of these images, but anyway:
if the second picture is true, then it gives hope to a bit differen (nicer) appearance of cockpit area than F-22.
I guess the category would be in Mig-35 range. Probably planned for Carrier version ?
Put it this way: this thing is to the F-22/35 what for instance F-15 is to the MiG-25 🙂
Since the need was aparently for low RCS , in how many way can you allign the tails and wings and stabilators and in how many ways you can chine the nose? And in how many way you can zigzag the radome or the panels on the aircraft?
While there are close similarities and i’m sure the chinese engineers studied very thoroughly the F-22/35 and others, it is NOT identical to them.
Seems J-21/F-60 has F-22 features in a F-35 size airframe or less, but with two engines.
Like i was saying few moths back , i believe if the SAC and China play their cards right , they can have the sale of the century for this bird. Not only they can sell a very advanced defense tool to non-aligned countries at a very affordable price for it’s capabilities, but they can also penetrate markets where they couldn’t before. (ME , Europe, Latin America etc.)
I understand all that, but it doesn’t have too look that much like a copy.
I was first to defend T-50 PAK-FA when it came out and all the haters and pro-USAF jumped on it calling it a F-22 copy, which was pathetically wrong.
In this case, all those guys will be right because F-22 and F-35 have some very unique shapes and proportions in design that did not have to be copied to achieve the same.
just my opinion
Its impressive that they are working on so many indigenous projects. Hats off to that!
But why does it have to look so much like cross F-22/F-35.
1. Huge Vertical stabilizers shaped just like F22 (none other)
2. Cockpit area = F-22
3. Nose = F-35
4. Intakes = F-35
5. I guarantee you that weapons bay is right there as F-22 has the big one. The tall/thick cross section of the body right behind cockpit is exactly like F-22.
gives USAF something to laugh about. Chinese designers must be their biggest fans looking at this prototype.
