seems like F-22 being stealthier than T-50 always comes in as argument when we talk about T-50s amazing unique aerodynamics. Fine. Practically, time will tell if they ever meet head on.
likely, we’ll never find out as for next 50 years you’ll hear about Su-27 and Su-30 fighting F-22s. I see Su-50 being another Tu-160 mystery entity. Hope they remain a mystery.
come on, its amazing aerodynamics ! Thats what I’m talking about. On top of t, its stealthier than any super maneuverability fighter out there.
I have feeling computers in this bird are doing a lot of “limiting” as far as turns and g-forces go due to all the moving surface area.
RCS is not what flies better ! As much as RCS, there are always improved missile countermeasures.
great pics. i can’t wait for more of them to roll out. All moving verticals, and body blend canards are stunning !!!
if i was F-22 or F-35 I’d be jealous just for those :-))
p.s.
whats the official name for these unique types of canards ?
yeh, I can’t believe there STILL isn’t a higher quality video, or photos of Mig-1.44 SINCE 2000 !!!!!!
by the way, what the hell is this piece of info from Wikipedie:
MiG 1.42/42 Primary version which may go onto production; the functions are better than that of the 1.44. Known as the “Foxglove”.
COMPLETELY WRONG ^^^
MiG 1.44 Demonstrator prototype with failure upgrades; will remain a demonstrator. 2 have been built. Codename is “Flatpack”.
TWO BUILT ?????^^^
I have two though!!
Second one is 1:144 scale and i got the color better on that one. Su-47 is also 1:44
cheers
Wow, now that is a professional build. Much better color match too. Maybe a bit shy on the brown , but I overdid my for sure!! Makes my old brush paint look bahahaDD 🙂
I think this KS-172 would be mounted on a pylon closer to the body for sure.
gorgeous model. DAMN !!!!makes me wanna buy another one and start from scratch.
As for my mig-29, i would never want to do it with air brush when it comes to old version As from cold war era. Its just that Soviets never cared to have them look so pretty as NATO planes were. All of them looked like they were painted with wall paint rollers and by a hand of the same guy that peas tomatoes in the kitche. I have seen many air brushed models that look 10x better that any Mig-29A ever did. Just not a Mig-29A ya know !!:-)
best regards
thanks guys. It looks ok from 3 feet away and farther 🙂
Now that i look at that photo, my model is identical as ar as bottom goes. Same door arrangement as well as those three cutouts
here is the bottom. You can see places for 4 missiles, but I believe 5 could fit in the frame with todays arrangement abilities. Specially if 3 were slightly lower that the top two. Also i increased contrast so you can see better lines of the proposed internal bay doors. Seems to match Paralay’s photo above.
cheers
I must say fantastic models. Do you have internal bays on that 1.44 model ?
P.s. that model of MiG29 is it a Yugoslav/Serbian sn. 18109, plane in which commander of Serbian fighter squadron lost his life in battle with NATO jets ?
yes, thats the one. Inspiration came from that event! Milenko Pavlovic flew 18109 s/n plane! Pretty awesome that you noticed. He is a hero to me.
Sadly i only had brushes to do painting.
I will try to take photo of the bottom of this 1.44 model soon. I can’t look quickly as its stored in a box in closet, but i remember sort of Mig-31 type bottom fuselage half retracted missile points.
peace!
due to lack of pictures, i have my old shots of models i made about 8 years ago of what would have been Mig-29A next to Mig-1.44 size comparison.
Looking at the wing area and just overall, Mig.144 certainly looks like it could easily take on the Mig-31 role as well as mig-29 and Su-35. I bet it is a great start design for next Chinese J-XX
wish i had more to contribute. Well hopefully this thread will bring out more forgotten sources/links.
best regards, and thanks for all contribution!!!
I expect the Chinese J-xx to be a modernised Mig-1.44 or at least based on it. They were apparently offered a partnership deal and access to the plans back in the 1990’s.
Some Chinese internet speculation…
Me too, It only makes sense whenit comes to Chinese current development in this field. It might even be a great design.
hi all,
first post on this forum, but have enjoyed it for some years now.
if you look at this link http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_3wZSwFvZzq…4470_56760.jpg from China defense forum, it posts pictures from a russian mag that looks from a russian perspective the development of the J-10. It looks similar to the Mig 1-42 posted by parlay and floyd
Very interesting post, Thanks!
🙂
looking at this photo, it does seem there are 3 doors under, and one near each corner totaling 5! This is if each bay( missile point) had single door.
Kind of hard to see.
No I doubt 1.44 or 1.42 were ever planned without internal bays as final design.
Thanks for the info Paralay!. I read in “Soviet X-Planes” book about converging of 1.41 and 1.43 into the winner design 1.42(at the time).
Floyd,
I have same opinion about intakes. It would be so much more slick if it looking at the intake sideways, it didn’t go down(perpendicular to body, but under angle, sort of cut backwards like mig-29/Mig-1.44, while keeping same V shape when looking from the below.
1.42 looks like ultimate 4.5 generation multipurpose combat airplane. Kind of like combining Mig-31 might with Su-35 flexibility and good looks.
too bad no drawings of 1.41 and 1.43
thanks again
i’m sorry to ask this if its well known, but i don’t see any detailed reliable up to date info online.
Are these migs capable of using r-73 missiles? Are there any in stock in Serbian airforce?
I hope they decide to get Mig-35s or simply lease Gripens, but get top notch latest SAMs from Russia. That would keep Serbian airspace compatible with NATO/EU operations, yet not as familiar and dangerous for anyone trying to dominate over.
peace
so they are essentially still Mig-29As
damn.
