Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see a formation including Lancaster, Mosquito and Blenheim etc…

Fantastic looking restoration! When is the “first” flight planned?

If other aviation related projects are anything to go be, you need to have top level security clearance
    to know that. 🙂

    Thanks for that.

In the GL book it quotes his name as being Nattu Alis Salim, with 17 Squadron naming him Jimmie Nutti, or “Chico”
Although they do use the name Nathu here: http://www.colonialfilm.org.uk/node/2422

Maybe after he went to Canada he changed his name to something more recognizable ?

“…Number 1 engine has been removed to have the supercharger clutch replaced….”

A wise precaution perhaps ? Is special attention being paid to superchargers, after what happened to VeRA ?

I’m surprised that the propeller has to be sent to Canada. Is there nowhere closer ?

Good luck with the ongoing work, it looks as if things are moving ahead well.

Probably he meant “My ‘girls on the wing’ shots”. Lovely photos but I have to admit to being baffled by the popularity of wing walkers. I guess it’s just not my bag.

“He meant” ?… I’d keep my head down if I were you 🙂

I see now, I thought they were girls Anna knew.

I take my hat off to them, not something I would contemplate.

Just to resurrect an old thread 🙂

I’ve just finished re-reading Ginger Lacey Fighter Pilot, and wondered if there was any update on the whereabouts of
Jimmie Nutti ?. If still around, he would be in his 70’s now. Last heard of in Canada I believe.

    Looks like good news.
As said, I wonder how many of those in the locality lived there when the Phantoms
were operating from the base ?

Museums providing education facilities are entitled to all kinds of funding. I was told years ago, “put Education or Equal oppurtunities on your application and you will get your money” – we did, and we got our funding.

Is this dependant on whether a museum charges an entrance fee or not ?
