Mmmm… Two days at Clacton. With a bit of luck, this could mean they come into Southend ?
Or at least be instructed to fly overhead en-route to the other shows. ATC are normally good like that. 🙂

Where do the aircraft at Eastbourne operate from ?

Bad English annoys me, and I say this as someone who left school in the mid-60s without any exam results.

The over use of the word “Fully”
Fully Qualified (can you be half qualified ?)
Fully Comprehensive insurance (No, It’s comprehensive insurance)
LCD Display (So you can have a Liquid Crystal display display ?)
PIN Number (No, it’s a PIN, see above) ( I annoy a lot of bank and shop staff with this one :))
Using the word “Less” when it should be “fewer”

    Nice pictures.

Since my other half packed up working in Rochford, I don’t get to the airport so much.
Often used to go in to the terminal cafe for a bacon roll after dropping her off at work at Rochford in the mornings.
Then sometimes calling in at the B-52 in the afternoon before picking her up.

Great pics I lived near there a few years ago, popped in last year and found lots of barriers, yellow lines etc.
Where do you your pics from, all the old spots seemed to have disappeared.
    Thanks,

    Barney.

No doubt an advantage when you work airside 🙂

You can use the Lancaster car park (near the Vulcan) for approaches to 24, or there are a couple of parking spaces
in the laybys, on the new road which goes next to 060, for approaches there.
Pictures of the apron outside the old terminal are easy enough, even through the chain link fence. You can normally
park there for a couple of minutes without any hassle.
Park anywhere near the new terminal, and they’ll be on your backs straight away.

Friday before Legends i got there at 0930 was instructed to park on the grass in main car park, joined in the queue and finally got in at 1045 think the queue for the powder room was just as long and as for a hot beverage !!!!!!!!!!!! M11 photo area full, school group running around (teachers more interesting than children at airside happenings) all in all a fantastic day

    Mmmmm, food for thought.

Becoming a F.O.D, is OK if you are going to be making regular trips. Rather expensive if you are only going once every
    three years or so.

I wonder what it’s like on Thursday 😀

Being non-radio in the Cub. I tried to get away before ‘the pack’, but someone else had the same idea !

    .

Just out of interest, how do you get on without radio comms ?
Or do you always fly in formation with another aircraft ?

I haven’t watched it for some time but perhaps Fifth Gear suits you better, Moggy. Car centric, little entertainment except cars and professional drivers as presenters.

If I to happen to watch a car programme,( which is not very often) it’s usually Fifth Gear.
Other than Wheeler Dealers, which we both enjoy.

I think it’s an age thing. When we have the Wife’s niece and nephew staying with us, they like to watch TG, and seem to think it’s great.
They are both in their Mid-Twenties.

I think they have cracked the car park exit fiasco of a few years ago – the Friday before any show is now quite a busy day, compared to the same day a few years back. The word has obviously got around!
With that in mind, the only real issues might be queues for refreshments in the on site cafés – with food stalls being in situ on “Fly-in Friday” but not open (unless things have changed) you might consider bringing your own food/drink.

Thanks for that, it’s obviously a case of get there reasonably early.

The advantages of the Friday for me would be.

Half the price to get in
    No Screaming children
    No huge crowd
    No PA system (I hope)
Could probably get away without taking wife…”Haven’t you taken enough pictures ?”…”When are we going ?”…”I’m bored” etc

    On a slightly different topic.

I haven’t been to a flying display at Duxford for many years. Not since it took me over two hours to get out of
    the car park.
I’m thinking about going up on the Friday before the D-Day show, on the 23rd. Is there anything I should know
    or be aware of ?

Despite his promises, Cameron will never give the British people a vote on European Membership.
Even if it means him stepping down as leader, assuming they win the next election.
