Damn ! Only just saw this. I’d liked to have gone down and got some more
pictures, as I have a better camera now.

Any idea as to when it may be back to Southend again ?

I’m still not clear as to whether the marked spots are where bombs fell, or
just those which exploded.
Of course there are many sites in and around London, where they know that
UXBs still lie in the ground.

Obviously an awful thing to happen, she obviously took the whole affair very
badly. The DJ’s in question couldn’t have dreamed of this outcome, so in my
mind can’t be entirely blamed for what has happened.

Then again, we don’t know what had been said to her at the hospital.

I remember that well. There were more than a few sharp intakes of breath
when the cut grass flew up in the air.

It must have been around the same time that when the Red Arrows were
reforming after their display, that there was very nearly a “coming together”.
With one of the pilots saying on the radio, “That was close !”.
