Where had the Vulcan been today ?
Didn’t see it, but they called up Southend at about 5:30pm to say they were
heading back to Doncaster, via Lakenheath. Flying northbound up the coast
to pass east of Clacton.

Use an inexpensive USB to Video lead adaptor.
I just plug my VHS machine into my DVD recorder, and have converted quite a few of my old videos onto DVDs.

I’m always sceptical regarding the claims that one type of aircraft is a better
dog-fighter than another.
In a combat situation, you wouldn’t have display pilots flying against each
other, and it’s highly doubtful that most pilots of the F-22 would be capable of
flying these manoeuvres, without losing control of the aircraft.

Also, since the Vietnam war, how many times have jet fighters been involved
in close quarter dog-fights ?

I wonder if they’ll be selling it on QVC ?

A can remember seeing that the first time around as well, and yes, Raymond
Baxter was the best person available to commentate on this subject.
(Unlike Noel Edmonds doing the Farnborough Airshow 🙁 )

It certainly brought back memories of when the RAF was a real air force.

Someone mentioned “Sailor”. I wonder if the BBC still has that on video ?

I still remember the slow motion footage of Phantoms taking off from the Ark
Royal, with a Pink Floyd backing track.

It would be nice to see the airfield left intact. Even if buildings were put over to commercial use.
It would be a great place for driving schools to take learner drivers too.

They have always been a rather dysfunctional bunch of people.

What? That he’s a perfectly normal young bloke? I must agree with that.

In one sense, yes it is good to see that he’s a “normal” bloke. Then again he isn’t a “normal” bloke. He’s a prince, and a serving officer in the armed forces.

This isn’t the first time he’s made the headlines for the wrong reasons.

I just hope that one of his senior officers has the guts to read the “riot act” to him.
