Very nice. I assume this is one of the Thunder City aircraft, any of the
    others flying ?

I haven’t been keeping tabs on the happenings there.

I agree with you there Al.

Atleast i’ll be able to take pics of the visiting private jets. 😀

I reckon Southend will see some heavy traffic. Perhaps to the extent of utilising the old Terminal for the Private flights ?

Call me Mr Cynical, but in my mind, these games are more about financial gain for politicians and
developers, than they are for the sporting content.
It’s become an easy way of taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich. It’s already made millionaires
out of at least one of the prime organisers, and their property developing associates. One or two MPs have also done
very well. This was shown in an ITV documentary.

No doubt they will be acknowledged in the next round of Birthday Honours, dished out by the Queen ?

Ah right, didn’t realize that. Haven’t driven around that side since they put the new car park in.

Parking charges seem to be changing on a daily basis

…..and to think a year ago it use to be free!

It still is, outside the old terminal. For now anyway.

They have a new long stay car park which is still £6 a day, but who is going to
pay £15 at the car park by the station ?
If you are catching a train, it’s only just over £5 a day at Rochford.

What an excellent documentary. Congratulations to all of those involved.

It’s a shame there had to be such a sad conclusion.

I’ve no problem with it being held.

Sport is always a soft target for politicians to have a go at. Meanwhile they will
still allow banks and companies to deal with the country.

I read somewhere that closing the canopy was standard practise when leaving an aircraft behind in the desert – it was commonplace for wrecks to be collected and repaired, so the canopy was shut to keep the sand out. Looks like it worked!

As long as the photographer closed it again afterwards ?

EasyJet has today announced that it will begin operating a new route from London Southend Airport to Venice – the first Italian route from the new airport. Starting on 8 February 2013.

Is there anyone on here who has connections within the RAF, to see if they
have actually been asked to ID the aircraft ?

Which department would be involved ?
