I used to love watching the Whirlybirds.
I even had the board game, although never actually played it.

The way the media and leaders of the other parties are picking up on every anti-UKIP story they can, tells us one thing.
They are really frightened of them.

None. Dixon’s wife died in an air raid and the other leads were Constance Fraser and Ruth Dunning. I think you are confusing them with The Huggets – Jack Warner and Kathleen Harrison and a very young Pet Clarke.

    That’s the one. :eagerness:

Both hands are raised – of course!! And at street level – The Appleyards, The Grove Family and Dixon of Dock Green!!:D

Which one of those had Kathleen Harrison as the female lead ?

Hands up those who remember Ivanhoe? And Richard Greene as Robin Hood.

You forgot William Tell. Conrad Philips who starred in it, also had a part in an episode of “Robin of Sherwood”
The chap who sang the song in Robin Hood, was Dick James, who started the DJM record label.
Funny how you remember these things 🙂
Ivanhoe must have been one of the first things that Roger Moore did. You never see any clips of it on TV though.

All the comments about the bad things about UKIP ,well lets do some likewise digging into some of the Labour,Cons,LibDem candidates past and present –not so pretty either.

Quite right, it won’t happen though. I wouldn’t mind betting that over the next couple of weeks there will be a lot more
attempted muck raking of UKIP, by the major parties.

I think it might work if they did something along the same lines as Dad’s army, but with completely different characters.
Then we wouldn’t get everyone making comparisons, but I suppose then they couldn’t call it Dad’s army 🙂

Do UKIP have ‘racist’ members..? Yes, in the same way as all the other Party’s do………………….

Which was a point being made on the radio yesterday. The media don’t mention those in the other parties though.

…….I don’t give a toss about the shortcomings of UKIP. What I DO care about, is that they are causing the overpaid fat-cats of the Westminster Elite to do something that seems, hitherto, quite alien to them, the which is to actually LISTEN to the Electorate. Now that HAS to be a ‘Good Thing’…..

    Couldn’t agree more !

It happens at all levels of government and local government.

At a council local to me where my wife used to work, a chief executive had his wife working in his office. She was made
redundant, and given compensation way above anyone else would have received, and way above what she was entitled to.
She was taken straight back on in another role, but with a higher salary.

I can only assume that all those who are anti UKIP/Farage are happy with the terms of our membership of the European Community ?

My personal experience is, talking to people from various walks of life, is that they will vote UKIP in the upcoming
European elections, but wouldn’t vote for them at local government level. Make of that what you will.

ukip never mentions all the British citizens that chose to live and work in and around Europe, correct me if I’m wrong, but won’t leaving the EU screw them over…?

I don’t see why it should.

He’s a prat regardless of this.

He certainly is, can’t stand the bloke, or that other twerp Hammond.
Does saying one word make you a racist though ? Of course not.
It’s a story about nothing. The BBC will never get rid of him, the Top Gear brand is worth too much to them.

Despite his promises, Cameron will never give the British people a vote on European Membership.
Even if it means him stepping down as leader, assuming they win the next election.

I haven’t watched it for some time but perhaps Fifth Gear suits you better, Moggy. Car centric, little entertainment except cars and professional drivers as presenters.

If I to happen to watch a car programme,( which is not very often) it’s usually Fifth Gear.
Other than Wheeler Dealers, which we both enjoy.

I think it’s an age thing. When we have the Wife’s niece and nephew staying with us, they like to watch TG, and seem to think it’s great.
They are both in their Mid-Twenties.

Bad English annoys me, and I say this as someone who left school in the mid-60s without any exam results.

The over use of the word “Fully”
Fully Qualified (can you be half qualified ?)
Fully Comprehensive insurance (No, It’s comprehensive insurance)
LCD Display (So you can have a Liquid Crystal display display ?)
PIN Number (No, it’s a PIN, see above) ( I annoy a lot of bank and shop staff with this one :))
Using the word “Less” when it should be “fewer”
