Looks like it sold for £12,600…. That seems very low for such an aircraft… I would have thought it would have made a lot more. If only I could afford it run 2 big radials I’d have gone for it myself!!!

Unfortunately, I can fully believe this story. My family makes a lot of products for the RAF and the licensing is madness. It really is a joke (IMHO), and yes, we’re paying for civil servants (and some RAF officers) to enforce this. In some cases we (the family business) cant make something at the squadrons request because of this bureaucracy… Its ridiculous.

Can the Gnat really be classed as a supersonic aircraft?

I dont know if this is of interest to anyone… I have an envelope that was sent me my friends grandfather. I dont have permission to give his name, but he was a gunner on 300 (Polish) Squadron and was shot down over Dortmund (and survived). He received something through the post from Irving… And this is the envelope it arrived in… It’s only small. You can see in the top left that the sender is ‘IRVING AIR CHUTE LTD’

I hope they paint her as ZG506 in the anniversary colours 😎

I think that would be the WORST thing they could do to her. She looks great as she is… I think 506 was the most awful looking harrier out there!

are they dumped, available, or up for gate gaurd/restoration by the owner ??.
