Yes, having looked around a number of other likely places for information, and noting that Denis chose not to rise to the bait, I felt it was unhelpful to the project to start more rumours. Lets wait and see.

    Bruce

That’s fair enough Bruce. But can I just to say, it wasn’t bait. It was a genuine question to a message that I received yesterday. This whole thread is full of rumours… If we’re going to clear out all rumours, then it’s probably best that we just start again. Having said that, I do see where you’re coming from!

Give the Vulcan to the RAF Memorial flight… Now there’s an idea!

Indecently, can anyone tell me why my post from last night has been deleted?

And France cant scrap there own they send it to England instead…!?

It’s no different to the ships that came over from America a few years ago. The news makes then look like toxic nightmares, but to the companies that do the scrapping, they’re high value items. The price of scrap may have fallen, but these ships are still big business.

As for the locals of Teesside… No disrespect meant here, but in a time of global recession, shouldn’t you be supporting a business that is still going strong? What problems have there been from the ‘ghost ships’ that came over a few years ago? You were giving the same arguments back then as to why they shouldn’t come over and as far as I know, there hasn’t been any problems from them!

Can anybody out there help me with a study on air pollution. In particular:

The types of pollutants produced by aircraft.
    EU limits.
    UK limits and strategies.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Spider,

Whats the reason for your request? Are you doing a study of your own. Can you drop me a PM? Are you looking at doing some physical sampling, or a desk based exercise? CO2 is the obvious one, but there are others, such as PM10s…

    Politics aside !

I assume that by being members of UKAR we are all aircraft enthusiasts and by posting to this thread specifically, we are enthusiasts of XH558 and want to see see her flying again. Your support is desperately needed at this time and I am asking you to put aside your personal feelings and rally to the Pledge Campaign to keep this iconic aircraft in the air.

I too am contributing to the cause and have produced a video in support of the Pledge Campaign. You can view the video here :-

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaBajcF9toE

Please pass the url on to all your friends and contacts.

The term ‘critics’ is used generally and should not be taken personally by any member on this board.

I know that by producing and placing this video I have done the utmost within my abilities to support XH558, not the Trust nor the Club, but rather the aircraft and whatever the outcome, I can be comfortable with myself in that I’ve done my level best to help the present situation.

    How about you???

    Thank you…..Vbomberboy

    Vbomberboy,
I saw the video you produced… Indeed I must confess I said in an earlier post that it was amateurish. I mean no offense by that, but I was of the opinion that it had come out of TVOC. I assume from what you’re saying that you’re just another guy who is passionate about the aircraft and wants to do your bit to help. I applaud you for that.

This is all so frustrating… 558 PressOffice comes on here telling us about stuff that’s going on, yet absolutely none of it has come from TVOC. Of the two things they’ve told us about, both are the ideas of private individuals.

I really think it’s time for change at Bruntingthorpe. In fact, I’m so frustrated by it all, I think I would go so far as to say I’d rather see 558 in a museum, that see it flying while incompetent individuals (IMHO) cream off huge salaries for doing (IMHO!) not a lot. It’s a disgrace.

With many thanks to one of our dedicated supporters, an official
PLEDGE VIDEO has been posted to YouTube.

    Please see: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JaBajcF9toE

It reminds us of what we are fighting for.
Any support you can give will be much appreciated

    Thank you.

558Press Office. Can you please tell us what you are doing to actively find this £1million? The video is amateurish to say the least, although at least it’s something. It’s very concerning because you’re the people in charge, we’re the owners of the aircraft (The Public) and I genuinely dont believe that you’re doing what is best for the aircraft.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…. If you’re truthful in what you say then the is 1 month to find £750,000. To date the latest pledge has raised £250,000… That is a HUGE shortfall. What are you doing, why do you refuse to take on board the points that are raised by us? To date, i think it’s fair to say that your public relation suck…. There is 1 month remaining… PLEASE do something about it…

Is it inside the EU or outside?

    They’re in Poland so yes… It’s EU.

I already know who’s after this one

You know someone who is after the SU22? If you’re serious can you drop me a PM… I have an idea that could be of interest.

I dont know the going rate for a cockpit… I suppose it’s all relative to availability. What do the forum cockpit owners think. is this a fair price for an SU22 cockpit?

What paperwork is involved in importing something like the Mig 21?

While you all sitting tearing this idea to shreds try to remember that this has been thought of and organised by club members, these people are just ordinary average people who have little or no experiance of this sort of thing.

Good point very well made Bubbles. We should all congratulate the individuals involved for having a go.

Bubbles – Not withstanding the efforts for the club members, do you have any idea what TVOC is doing to find the £750,000 short fall… We’ve all waited with baited breath from the 558 Press office, and still we know nothing about what they’re doing… I cant believe what a bunch of amateurs they are.

    Ladies and gentlemen,

I’m sorry to say, but if TVOC are going to continue to and support 558 in this way, then the project WILL fail.

On January 8th we were told by 558 press Office that the 09 pledge had raised nearly £200,000 in 4 week. Now they’ve raised Nearly £250,000 in 8 week. Thats a huge drop off… A quarter of what they raised the first time around.

    Bye bye 558 😡

I think I’ve got his e-mail address at home. I’ll PM it to you if I have.

I’m pretty sure there were 3 cockpits available, and he bought 2 of them.
