I am desperately sad to hear this, and my thoughts and prayers are with the families involved.
I tried biding on a Brown’s Brothers Aeronautical Cat. from the 1925-35 time frame. Lost out. Got in touch with the ‘kid’ who won it. Did not want to sell.
The information in this catalog is now lost on some bookshelf instead of being dispersed to the many individuals who are in need of research answers.Ed
I think thats unbelievable. You know there is one really simple way to stop that happening in future… BID HIGHER.
To come on a forum and criticise come ‘kid’ because he wont sell it to you is poor. Thats the nature of auctions if it was so valuable, then you should have paid more.
Thats great. Do we need to contact the museum direct to secure one?
Goodness knows why the RAF didn’t have a Concorde for the Royal Squadron.
Because it made far more sense to buy a seat on a BA flight than it did to operate a whole aircraft for a few flights a year!
Its at a yard over in California.
Does anyone have any other suggestions / ideas?
Does anyone know which scrap yard the remains of of 699 ended up at?
Without wishing to add fuel to benyboy’s rumours, I would imagine that on outfit like HHA who fly their aircraft with military registrations are the only likely way that we would ever see F4 Phantoms flying in the UK again.
Thank you very much for your reply. That seems am extremely high price for a scrap, crashed hawk!
Can anyone else shed and light of this for me?
Nice looking grip. Thanks for the heads up!
I’d like to see a BBMF Hurricane painted to represent RF-F (V6684) of 303 Squadron.
What an incredible story.
Thank you for posting that.
May he rest in peace.
What harrier cockpit parts are there?
Have you seen this http://www.malcolmharrison.co.uk/auctions/air-and-ground-2-day-tender.aspx
let me know if you’re going… You can register on the day, but you will need a credit card to be able to get a bidders number.
So why the harrier nozzles mate? They are rear ones I think?
PM sent!!!
