Thanks for that Varsity. I think I will try and get over there in Thursday. I’ll have to just let tomorrows lots go – Unless anyone on here is bidding and would like to bid on my behalf?!!!! – I’m looking at 3 harrier nozzles!

Varsity… Are there any guide prices there or is it a case of they make what they make?
I wanted to get over myself but couldn’t make it today.
I wish I could get there tomorrow to bid on a couple of lots!

I’d been told previously how D-day stripes were very rough, applied by hand… That Spitfire photo shows it perfectly!

I’m sorry, but shouldn’t these tributes come after legends 2013, rather than before? Seems a little premature to me. Its like saying goodbye to someone before they’ve even got their coat on!

The aircraft in question was Lancaster BH-J PB722, 300 (Polish) Squadron. The incident happened on 21st February 1945.

I’ve seen the obvious stuff that is already on the internet.

I know that S/Ldn Jan Konarzewski (Pilot) and his navigator Sgt Stanislaw Modrany were both killed.

Flt Sgt Wladyslaw Jakimowicz was taken prisoner.

Sgt Roman Burkacki, Sgt Tadeusz Picho, Sgt Antoni Gorczycki & Sgt Zenon Raczynski all survived and returned to England. A lot of documentation says that they evaded capture, but I know that Antoni Gorczycki was taken POW at some point.

My friends grandfather was on the aircraft (Gorczycki). He’s no longer with us, but we would like to try and locate the crash site!

is that the going price for a stripped out seaking?

Nope… Thats just the ridiculously advertised price for a stripped out seaking! They’ve been advertised at that price for a good while now and I don’t see any movement on them yet! Their RN Lynx is equally as ridiculous (in my opinion!)

For what its worth I say keep her as a K2 in hemp. I think they looked great like that. White never really did it for me on a Victor. However, its you choice mate! You’ll never please everyone in this game!

Great news that she’s going to be saved. I remember being shown around this aircraft back in around 93 during an ATC visit to Marham. always loved the victor. PM sent!!

Love to see another A-10 here but considering they wanted Duxfords back it might not be for a while!

    Curlyboy

For for thread drift, but who wants Duxfords A10 back? The USAF? Any idea why?

Isn’t there still an A10 on site at Alconbury?
