Good man… I’d like to see it!
Once the Cornell project gets to Wickeny, I’ll take some pictures for those people who were asking!
I cant wait!!!! I mean for the Cornell, not the museum!!!! 😀 😀 😀
Sadsack… Is that in todays paper?
Bruce… I’ve sent you a PM!
Does anyone know who the owner is of the aircraft at Errol?
I was thumbing through the Feb 08 copy of flypast and came across this (page 82)… I’m sorry that it’s not the best quality, but I’ve spent the last hour trying to get the scanner to work… B&**%y thing!!! Ended up having to take a photo of the page instead!!! Anyway, I hope it’s of interest!!!

Sounds like a great idea… I always used to like watching the demonstrations at Cosford airshow when they’d have something up on jacks, and then start playing around with it.
It would be great i you could pole mount it and use a hydraulic head to make the aircraft pitch and bank… Ir is that getting too complicated? Would it be possible to use large radio controlled model servos to to move the stick inside? i think it sounds like a great idea.
Have you seen this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROBINSON-R22-HELICOPTER_W0QQitemZ180211258867QQihZ008QQcategoryZ32635QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It’s not necessarily what you’re looking for, but it’s a similar concept!
Jagx204 – Very interesting photo’s… Do you know what the owners intentions are? Does anyone else have any more photo’s of them? How many are there?
Carpetbagger… I think that there are 2 AN2’s at Popham… There is the AN2 Clubs HA-MKF which is flying, but there is also HA-MKE which is sick! And minus her wings and tail! Thats the one I was thinking about!!!!
There was also the AN2 at Newark for a short time… What happened to her?
There is a list you can apply to be on – it comes out semi regularly from the MOD with disposals on. I subscribed to it a couple of years ago and got notified about quite a few individual airframes (mainly Jaguars and Jet Provosts if I remember). It seems to have gone a bit quiet of late but I think the MOD seem to have a variety of different methods of disposal. Always interesting to find out how much the aircraft actually went for!!
Misha – Do you know who it is that administers this “list”?
Does anyone else have any more information?
flyernzl,
Are you familiar with g-info? http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=60&pagetype=65&appid=1
Type in the aircraft registration, and it will give you certain bits of information about the aircraft including the registered owner.
DGH,
Thank you for taking the time to reply… Can I take it from the way you speak that you are involved with the classic flight?
I think it’s a tragedy that Mr McHenry is no longer flying, but I can fully understand the obstacles that you are up against… It all costs money!
In the original thread, I asked if consideration was ever given to bringing Mr McHenry back to the uk for preservation here. Can you tell us if that was ever considered?
Anyway, well done for keeping him going as long as you did…
Scorpion… I never did get that message?… Did you send it?
I saw it sat in that old barn about four months ago . It didn’t seem to be suffering too much and in fairness to the Bakers – they bought it and brought it back to the U.K – something that nobody else did.
DB… Absolutely… I think they should be applauded for bringing the aircraft home… I do just think it’s a shame that they do all that work, but don’t fly any of them! But each to their own… At least they’re safe.
Flyernzl…
Sadly (some people may disagree whith my use of the word ‘sadly’!) CBOA of now in the hands of the Baker’s and while that does mean she’s in good company, it also means she’ll allmost certainly never fly again… At least for as long as she remains at Carr Farm 😡
But at least we know that she’s in safe hands… I just wish that they would fly some of those aircraft! Such a shame to see than sat in an old barn like that!!!
Lots of Austers out there to go into museum’s one day!;)
Into museums is ‘ok’… out the rain is just sad!!!!! They dont like th rain! Still, once they get their nice new permits, they’ll solder on forever wont they?… Or at least thats what some people think!!!!!!!!:diablo: :diablo: :diablo:
Is Lasham still open as an aircraft museum, or is it more of a private collection like the Long Marston?
Seems a shame to see that AOP9 sat out in the rain!!!!
