That’s not paint mate, it’s rust. :diablo:
IMO MSFS tried to do too much, ie, world coverage. Sure, it was interesting to land a big jet at that mountain side strip in Nepal or where ever but did we users really learn anything from it. A far better choice was the Flight Unlimited series. Not so much area covered but, by the standards of the day, a much better flying sensation. ATC was so much better, complete with diversions to avoid larger aircraft, so many ‘Easter Eggs’, so many small fields to drop into, so many third party enhancements. A great little sim based in a beautiful part of America. With the later additions, longer frights could be made to the north where another detailed area was to be explored.
Such a pity that that team of designers were broken up. With today’s technology, it would be as close to flying the real thing as you’d get.
Pity I don’t still have it although, I guess it wouldn’t run on Windows7
Ever notice that you get Xmas (so few are truly CHRISTmas) cards from people you never hear from for the rest of the year? Why do they bother:confused:

There was also a rumour that a Spitfire achieved it as well. The wings were supposedly moved back 6 inches in the attempt. By that I mean they moved during flight.
I recall something similar, but in colour, and with a big line up of the squadron Lightnings.
Or is that all a false memory syndrome?
Perhaps a photo-shoot on the same day?
Not thinking of this are you. hope not ’cause it’s 19 Sqdn.
Getting back on subject, I understood that no super-sonic aircraft were allowed in private hands, hence the ban. Could be wrong but makes sense doesn’t it!
Water(+methanol) has been used for many years as an aid to gain power. In my time, Blackburn Beverley’s used it and in general, all car engines ran much better on damp, misty mornings, once you got them started. My very limited knowledge on how this works is, inject water into a confined space and heat it instantaneously. HUGE expansion, weather in a cylinder bore or a jet pipe. With more ‘mass’ trying to get out of that confined space = more power.
…………………..
I seem to remember an EE Lightning chewing bricks from a hangar office wall and the pilot climbing out the cockpit onto the roof of the offices?
Quite right. Loss of brakes on a bend in the peri track behind the control tower at Coltishall. I think the plane tried to enter the 19Sqdn Leaders office. Pilot couldn’t shut the engine down for some reason so took to the roof. Happened just before I was poster to 19Sqdn.
I bet the sudden CRACK made you jump and you inadvertently pressed the button :-))
Have you checked if there’s a radar in the ‘Bullet’. That’s a fair weight to consider in your balancing act. Of course, it might have weights in there anyway. We often flew them without the radar.(Ex radar fitter/tech) Best check though.
Lincoln, did the same thing in Singapore when I was in the RAF. Also played golf, but our target was about 6″ in diameter on a pole stuck in the hole. Had to really make sure nobody was standing in line of sight.

Wonder if he’s got his Harem on board;-)
Would love to see the interior……………no expense spared I’d guess.
