Darren is my wife’s nephew and naturally we’re very proud of his effort. The video was done as a community awareness thing. This is him aged about 9 with his younger brother Lee, and my 21ft, flush decker, Debutante sloop. I nearly clobbered him when he put his hand on the freshly painted white top sides.

The computer to mimic the brain of a bird has not yet been designed so even if we could get the mechanics somewhere near right, we mere mortals could not control it.

Yes because it takes the bit out of the middle and strengthens at the same time!

I would suggest it lightens and stiffens, not strengthens. the strength comes from the flanges around the Spar, rib, what have you.

I like that Narval. The only thing ugly about it is the position of the horizontal stabilizer. I’m guessing but I think that’s to prevent shadowing by the main planes. Just love the contra-rotating props. I must admit, it looks kinda nose heavy but.

Deskpilot, I think you need to have your eysight checked, you’ve been staring at that photo for far too long. 😀 Its post #1202 you meant, I cant see any jugs in #42 it’s just a Wildcat.

Ooops, quoted ‘number of posts’ instead of ‘post number’. 😮

As I check this page every day, why is it that I stop and review post #42…2 jugs and a 109. Do I really like planes of German origin? 😉

As an aside, I’ve got to admit that I do like the green that they paint their cockpits. So much more restful than the all black UK style.
