I think putting a positive attitude to the Vulcans future is the only way to go at the moment and despite the fact that she delivered ‘Armageddon’ and ‘sunshine’, she is still an historic example of aviation. You could say the same about a Spitfire. She wasn’t exactly an airliner deliverings passengers to a ‘sunshine’ destination, but has still got a massive following regarding flying examples.

I think we can safely say, judging by the interest that has been generated by this massive restoration programme, that the Vulcan is going to have a huge following also and potential sponsors are going to realise this and will see it as a good opertunity to advertise their company……what ever it is they do;)

Come on guys, get her up there and bring the rain……………..the rain of money she will have donated to her upkeep;)

Sounds to me like someone’s being a tad greedy!

Or is that the going rate to hanger an aircraft of that size?

Aparently not. Something to do with the lack of emergancy services on site and the use of the runway by other parties from what I was told, but it could be wrong.

It seems a shame if she’s not going to operate from there considering how long she’s spent there being restored.

Maybe I’m just being bitter cause she’s so close to me and it means I don’t have to go far to see her:diablo:

As I can’t be bothered to read through all the pages of this thread to see if it’s already been mentioned, has anything been said as to where she’s going after her stint at Waddy?

Is their any possibility that she will return to Brunty as her home or is she destined to grace other parts of sky in the UK for her home?

Your welcome mate. Thats what we’re here for.;)

I’m sure I have some other footage on vhs somewhere with other Buccaneer displays on but can’t remember where the footage was taken or how long it lasts but I know for a fact that the Leicester Buccaneer is a full routine because of it being it’s final year.

I have some vhs video footage of a Buccs full display routine at Leicester Air display in it’s final year of display and I can remember now how it was a very damp and muggy day and how on her final pass she was very close to the barrier.

The condensation pouring off her was a sight I’ll never forget.

I’ll try and find the said video, which I know I still have somewhere and I’ll send it too you Nige.

Or hand it over to you personally when we go to Scampton:D

Well I’m not bothered when she goes up to be honest. I’ll know as soon as she leaves the ground. Apart from the noise I will hear, I could throw a stone at her and hit her from where I live:D
