The guys involved in the restoration work of 558 came to the museum to look at our Vulcan and I asked a similar question and the reply was that the force of display was going to be less greater than before but would still look mightily impressive.
They did say that the usual howling growl at full throttle up on the runway would probably not happen to preserve the length of use of the engines. Because of the amount of weight loss gained from removing non essensial equipment they would not require full power to climb out.
A small loss compared to the events of finally seeing her fly;)
That’s talent you have there Rob, shoot for the skies.
Was and still am impressed with the 3 Sqn B(I)8s you did for me, even allowing for the artful ploy used to get some reference material!!
😉
Thanks Les.
The evil cunning ploy was Malc’s idea though mate not mine:rolleyes:
Yes I’m passing the blame here:diablo:
Well I think I have no choice but to upload the others that I have done for you to see.
I’m at work at the moment (naughty boy for being on here…) but I will upload the others tomorrow in a new thread.
As Martin has already said I have done a Mosquito and Nimrod, plus the Typhoon and Canberra B1-8’s which I will upload.
Thanks for the input. You don’t know how encouraging it is.;)
Well, I’d buy it!
How much would you charge to do one of my Vampire?
Bruce
It depends if you wanted an A3 print of it or the original my friend. I do all the original drawings on stiff A4 paper that are sprayed after to protect the charcoal. I don’t do originals any bigger than that because I start to get proportion issues:D
But the prints are just as good A3 size.
PM me my friend and we can work something out if you wish.
The Phantoms look fine to me……so does the image of Rachael Leigh Cook on your online album;)
I’m surprised you know about that my friend. I’ve told no one on here about it. Yes I have been doing portraits but didn’t think that would be a subject to talk about on this site.
How did you find out about my site?
How old????
Happy birthday Ben.
Hope you’ve had a good day old friend.
Rob
ps.. Thanks for all your support mate 😉
G-APSA Departure
Was working on the Phantom today at the Midland Air Museum and was fortunate enough to see her leave for Jersey.
This was the first time I saw her in her new scheme and I was gobsmacked at her. She looks brand new!!
I still think out of all CF’s aircraft, the 6 is by far the best! You can’t beat the sound of those four radials………….or three as the case may be:D
Another reason why I hope CF never leave Cov. You can’t beat them sounds and sights.
Well done guys!
I’m fortunate to live in Lutterworth which is about 2 miles from Brunty and literally 5 minutes away in the car but whats good is from where I live, you can hear her engines being tested and it’s an awesome sound to hear.
It’s not loud, but a thundering rumble in the distance and when you hear it, it sends shivers down my spine because I know what it is.
I can’t wait until the day she takes off, because where I am, I will see her, she’ll be overflying Lutterworth quite a lot and I’m well excited!
Hats off to the boys and girls of VTTS for a stonking job. Hopefully in a few days time, their hard work will be well rewarded by seeing her lift off for the first time in years!!
Bravo 😀 😀
Thats not Ray, Kev,………..thats you, Monkey Boy!!:diablo:
I can assure you mate it wasn’t just my face that was blue:D
Agreed though, the Lightning boys won hands down for me that wet and windy Sunday. I think my ears are still trying to recover from the ear splitting crackle of those burners now………or is it the cold that did that:rolleyes:
Looking forward to the weekend and my ten days off work from Wednesday. Gonna tear into the Phantom big time mate and hope you will be there to guide me Sat and Sun…..weather permitting:D
It’s definatly worth it!!
It’s the biggest airshow in Europe with the largest gathering of military hardware from all over the world, and frankly, where else would you see that in the UK, apart from Mildenhall. Even Waddy doesn’t cover this much.
I’m going!!
Didn’t want to mention that Robb as it’s not happened yet.
Why Les, that sounds like a ‘don’t think it’s gonna happen’ quote!!
Did they not tell you that the date has been set for her move and transport is booked?;)
She may look thin on the ground now, but once we’ve blown her up she’ll be much better:D
Of course Les, the fact that mine and Martins Viscount will be sat exactly where the Whirlwind was, has nothing to do with it though really:diablo: 😀
