Keeping to the additions to CF, I believe a Proctor is on it’s way……or was it a Provost:rolleyes:
I have also heard that the Lancaster from Canada is to be a Legends, apparently one of the big surprises, but as per usual with this forum, not any more!!
We will try our best to find them for you Jag.
Myself and PhantomPhixer are pretty good at sourcing aircraft parts but I will admit Sterlings are not every day items so it may take a while.
We’ll add it to our list of other parts we’re waiting for. If you can PM me with a picture of some sort it will help;)
Crackin vid that.
Theirs a couple of people in that video who we dealt with at Yeovilton when we aquired our FA2 at the museum.
A work of art that Mart.
I think dispite comments on here of it being a modellers dream, the fact that you are spending quite a lot of time on this subject is great.
It will show how even earlier aircraft were used in experimental modes. Great looking model mate, keep it up;)
I’m affraid I completely agree with Fluffy, Jackattack and CIRCUS.
All through the process of this thread while 474 was painted people asked about the nose art and all the time it was said to be kept under wraps, hense the nose art being covered. This was done for a reason, but with the aircraft type being what she is, has had a lot of attention and she is going to be photographed from every angle possible by any enthusiast with a camera but you surely couldn’t expect the officials to go around everyone and tell them not to publically show the pictures because they were more than likely to busy for a start off with all that was going on, but obviously some people on here couldn’t wait to get home and be the first person to put on here the pictures of the nose art and steal all the glory by being the first to do it, even though they must of knew that it was being kept under wraps, pretty poor if you ask me:mad:
And as for it not mattering that they have been put on here because it will get more publicity at the unveiling, how wrong can you be! This aviation forum has thousands of members world wide not just in the UK and probably has three times as many visits by just guests looking in alone. The press release at Conningsby will be very small compared to the global viewing of this web site.
I know we all like our pictures, but sometimes people just don’t listen, they thrive on being the attention grabbers by being the first to post their pictures. I have took quite a lot of pictures of this aircraft over the past few days but have not posted one of them out of respect for the wishes of the crew.
Winge over!!!
I’m not a nasty man, I’m a messiah, but a very naughty one at that!!
Lets hope the weather lasts out Tuesday to see her air tested, but if it don’t maybe Wednesday will be the day. Fingers crossed;)
He may of had a nice shiney Beemer but he did say that my Beemer was also in good condition so their!!!
He was a nice Policeman…..I liked him…..eventually:D
Great seeing her yesterday running up!
Kept a watchful eye out today for her only to see her towed back into the hanger. Even worse, while on rock farm road a traffic police officer decided to check out my car. Luckily all was ok but for a minute thought I was gonna get my car impounded!!
Bit of advise. If you move house, remember to get you Drivers License updated to your new address, it saves a load of hassel and time…..:D
Well your doing a top job boy’s keep it up.
Look forward to seeing her again:D
Do we have a date for engine runs and air test yet boys?
I wanna make sure I’m at the museum when she does to see her. I saw her come in and wanna see her go out. I’m sure it’s a question that everybody would like an answer too:D
Cheers
Took some pictures of the Argosy myself the other day so might as well put them on for you all.
Malcolms busy as usual as you can see. Spent all afternoon today masking off the “Overnight Delivery System” and G-APRL reg on the booms, ready for painting.
Will take my camera again tomorrow and take some more shots for you all.
Enjoy;)
The Argosy has been long overdue a repaint and compared to the length of time it took to do the Vulcan is coming on surprisingly quickly.
As you can see in the first piccy, our superb chief engineer, Malc, is looking at this time the extent of work that is required on the top of the aircraft and the logo on the side. When the wind blew slightly, for some reason he shouted me and I ended up painting the top of the aircraft and the high parts.
I often thought to myself while doing it, who was the stupid one………..:diablo:
Maybe you could say I was getting in the practise for when Victoria Lynne arrives cause as Martin doesn’t like heights I can see who will get the job of painting the high parts on our bird:rolleyes:
can’t beat a bit of banter eh Mart:dev2:
She won’t wear those colours.
Trust me, think Navy.
Outstanding work! The cockpit is in amazing condition! I love the shot of the passenger area with the overheads on.
Great work. Keep it up guys.;)
