Well there will be one moving North soon – but not that far North…. 😉
TT
!!!!!!!!!!
Is there an airframe ‘wants’ list for the 125 that people could have to help?
I’ll ask Malc. Not working on the project myself, I’m not really sure to be honest Dave, but I’ll find out.
I know that their are a couple of instruments missing but thats about it.
You ain’t seen nothing yet!!;)
Sadly all the humour has left the form 🙁
Agreed.
Posting the link was good but the other answers……..
That why this forum is becoming more and more unpopular as each day goes by. Not one useful answer. Just sarcastic comments. If you don’t know the answer, don’t reply!!!!!
Absolutly superb. Photo’s are really good. Hard to believe this is only about 500yards away from us at the museum!!
Great stuff!!;)
Our chief engineer at MAM who is an ex Belfast man from 69-76 assured me they were never structually designed for lowering the ramp in flight.
I’ve heard that a B17 called SallyB will be there and a Lancaster called ‘Phantom of the Ruure’, however you spell it, will also be attending and a Mustang called Frankie and another Mustang called Princess Elizabeth will also be there!!
Can’t wait:diablo:
Think bigger things Martin, think bigger things!!;)
Realistically, being in the restoration trade myself and painting quite a few airframes at Midland Air Museum, matching the true colours of aircraft is very hard.
Unless you have the proper spec. paint charts and the right equipment to mix these colours, you will never get a proper match, so you have to go with the closest style possible. The design of the scheme can be duplicated very accuratly providing you have the right referances, but you’ll never be able to match the colours, unless you can spend a fortune trying to match it, you have to go with what you can.
New years res…..not to bid on stuff on evilbay if it’s for a Spitfire……..Ooops…..sorry:o
It could be a Dewoitine…the canopy looks set back to me and the angle of the photo makes the wing look thicker than it possibly is…..

I plan to encourage more forum members to come and see us working at the Midland Air Museum.
So many people say how well we do but it would be nice to show you all around our exibits and how we acheive our work loads.;)
Indeed she is. First prototype was G-ARYA and third prototype, G-ARYC, is preserved in much more complete form at Salisbury Hall.
I was lead to believe that G-ARYA and G-ARYB were both the first and second prototype airframes. Their was no third prototype airframe as such.
G-ARYC was the first pre-production Series 1 airframe, which had played a major part in the development of the Viper engine.
It is right what Les has said about us working on G-ARYB. It is intended to be used as a demonstrator for schools. Work is still going on frantically, but she is coming on fine.
