Very interesting read that. It makes you wonder how many more aircraft like that are lying around!

    MAM Mig21

As a long term member of the MAM and personally being the person who done the checks for radiation on the Mig21, I can assure you all now that under no circumstances is the Mig out of bounds to the public!!

It is in fact, one of the safest aircraft in our collection and the only reason access to this aircraft would not be allowed would be if it was being worked on and it was seen as being a danger to the public, or, that radiation checks were being done on it at the time.

If, Bri, you wish to sit in the cockpit, by all means come back to the museum and I will personally gladly take you in her myself!

    hi all,

if some brave soul did land at Gaydon, they would probably end up in a pile of wreckage, this being due to the three different surfaces.
we recently resurfaced the main straight, using three types of tarmac, this is for high speed breaking tests, the three run side by side.:)

or is that just a way of saying, “keep away from our runway, cause we don’t want you there and we’ll impound you aircraft if you land” 😀

Whats the current situation with Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire.? Is it also taken over by the car industry?

This is an early mark Lightning, which is good I suppose, but the cockpit is very much stripped out and the price he is asking for (£4500+), is in my opinion way to high.

I’d keep well away from it personally! You could probably get a complete Lightning for that price…..

Well, then the reports of seeing funny shaped objects travelling at tremendous speed around that area also don’t exist.?

When folks have seen things before, they tend to appear many years later as newly developed aircraft, SR71, F117, B2…..all funny shapes and weird sizes, so, whats next on the developing scene?

Some sort of high speed, highly manouverable craft? Something is happening!!!

i always thought the B-70 was “even for the Americans” too far too soon.

I wouldn’t say that. It’s no more different than the Brits developing the TSR2. That was a machine that was also ahead of it’s time really. 😉

Can you enlighten us to this viscious rumour about Classic going to Deenesthorpe A1?

I really would like it if they stay at Baginton.
