Unlike most people, I like how the Gannet looks:) Shame there aren’t more preserved πŸ™

    Fouga23,

I thought it was just me!! I built the Novo kit as a child and was hooked from then. If I had the abaility to build a nice model, there’d be a Gannet in the Circus 6 household!!

Another question is what happened to the 3 stub exhausts you were trialing on the fighters ?

    Spadegrip/Bradburger
I believe the siamese exhaust stubs were cracking frequently due to manufacturing stresses. I “think” that the relevant manufacturer is sorting the issue (or maybe if I hope enough, it’ll end up that way!)

And here I think you have your answer. Tsunami was sadly lost in a fatal accident not exactly related to itΒ΄s design (IIRC)

    Galdri,

Tsunami was lost when the flaps (driven from a single flap jack) were selected down and the tie rod on one flap failed causing a massive and ultimately cataustrophic roll input close to the ground.

Fantastic! I can only assume that the persons present were thoroughly briefed on what to do if the aircraft had suffered an emergency and cleared the tarmac area. Shades of the Martin Sargeant (spelling) incident in France.

Question, why is the aileron control panel only fastened with 2 fasteners??

Good point Peter, in my experience it’s better to have a panel either completely off / open, or completely secured. A semi secured panel isn’t secure and can easily catch out the unwary.

“There’s a Spitfire, then another….” Why is it that some narrators/commentators really like the sound of their own voices. He really needs to do some research:diablo:

Thats the one Tim! I remember my father telling me that a Victor had come in with a fire, and I remember seeing her on my occasions.

I was starting to question myself with all this talk of XL189, because we were still in Scotland when she arrived at Waddington, and I was sure that the Victor I’d seen here was painted in hemp. Does anyone have any photos of her.

Thank you for all the replies.

VX, would you be happy to see her in a semi cut up state? If so I’ll get images scanned and posted (it might be after Christmas now though)
