Just a quick one…did the civilian reg peel off without taking paint with it? The reason I ask is that I applied it last May and hope I didn’t stuff it up!
Oh, and it looks great!

The second Seafire 17, SX300 is well along the path, and as been said, will be ready when ready. Before and after piccies show some of the progress on the port wing. The 46 is expected to follow. Aproper contra prop should look quite cool:)
As the Mk46 has quite a different wing, will it be a more taxing thing to rebuild? I’m assuming that the dies etc to make the A,B,C,D and E wing ribs are readily available, but isn’t the mk20+ wing substantially different?
And yes a (proper) contra prop will be uber cool….Great work, keep it up!:)
Done.
PA474 is a superb way to represent the men of Bomber Command. Remember that in World War II, Bomber Command lost 55,000 men, outweighing todays RAF in it’s entirety (less than 42,000 personnel).
For the survivors of that time….We salute you.

Please be advised that, as with the other outfits at North Weald, Kennet’s hangar isn’t normally open to the public.
Very True….

Please do`nt ask when they will fly as you will be told “WHEN THEY ARE READY”.
As for the Gannet (G-KAEW) that is third in line behind the Seafires and just infront of a Scout (XV119).G-ANPK
Thank you for the info on the lay of the land. I wouldn’t ask such a churlish question (re:when they will fly)being into resto and maint myself I hear it alot. I’m just a bit of a naval aviation enthusiast and really like both types, and would love to see pics and hear progress of both. I’d pop to have a look, but I’m currently in one of the armed forces favourite holiday destinations..the desert!

Should we not be crediting TFC with enough intelligence to have properly researched and applied the paint scheme……? :p
Jon

Latest news from RNHF HERE as usual.

90 years is a marvellous record. And the London flypast was quite a show.
Thanks Martin,
We did something special in the Middle East today including a flypast, but nothing on the scale of the Reds.
Happy Birthday

[QUOTE=Air Ministry;1232814]Sorry Kurt, but LM457 does not appear to be in my database of Lancasters in published works.
I’m sorry Air Ministry, the Lanc in question is LM437.
Cheers, Kurt
Thank you all, all very good! Any more? (I know I’m asking alot).:)
Kurt
Damnations…. I can’t see it as the security here is ridiculous!
Kurt
Brilliant info on the raid! Thanks for that.
Sgt Walter Richardson went on to become a member of the Guinea Pig Club and according to his son (a serving Warrant Officer) got promoted twice whilst lying in bed!! (Hmm how things have changed).
Can anyone help me with an image of the aircraft in question or maybe even one from 50 Sqn (Codes VN-…) of the same era?
Kurt
I have it as a B mk III part of a batch of 340 made at Avro Yeadon if that’s any help.
Yes that’s a good start….thank you.
Anything more?
Kurt
Happy Birthday for yesterday (doh)! “21 again” is it?!?!
