OK !! I understand your use for a 4×4. But how many people really use an off road vechicle for its intended design ? What do you deem the sticks ? Most drivers of these vechicles have never used low or high ratio gears. Its laughable.

my point exactly they are a statement of wealth nothing more,:)

    1. You rarely post a question. Usually it is a barely coherent statement, written with poor spelling, little or no sensible punctuation and barely a nod towards grammar which is designed solely to provoke. Frankvw, a Belgian for his sins, couldn’t make out what you were trying to say. Doesn’t that tell you something? Especially as he is obviously more fluent in the English language than you.

    2. It would help if there was a point to your threads, which are increasing alarmingly in quantity. I honestly can’t say they are decreasing in quality because there never was any to begin with. Is anyone else here beginning to think that victor45 is nothing more than a troll?

On topic, if ever there was one, there are bad drivers in every type of car you can imagine, and until her recent sad demise, one of the worst offenders in the area in which I live was an 80 year old lady in that most brutish of vehicles, the Morris Minor.

when edward heath the ex prime minister who got us into the EU a few years later was proposing that britain should get out of EU as we would lose our national identity al;ong with our right to administer our own affairs surely that should have been a huge warning note, all membership of this nuiosance club has done for me is to have plugs fitted to electrical goods in factory otherwise zilch and lots of euro MPs meeting once a week and recieving scandlous salaries for so doing its high time we ditched this Megalithic stone around this countrys neck:mad:

Wasn’t it just the case that when the various specs were being written, .303 guns and ammunition were the most readily available? They did the job so why disrupt production by introducing different calibres?

    Best wishes

aclear case of using a cheaper substitute thereby placing the aircraft with less effective armament, and endangering its crews 😎 :

Not to mention having to change out the ammo boxes and tracking etc… shame really. Could you imagine the outcome with bomber command if they ahd heavier firepower in the turets!

thats my point thanks for stating it

An odd thought crossed my mind. If the A/C is being used to tow target drogues, might this change the balance of the A/C and necessitate some ballasting somewhere? I’ve never heard of water ballasting tires, but have heard of weights being added to aircraft to balance out their flight dynamics. Anyone know how a towed drogue might affect flight characteristics? Depends on what aircraft and where tow cable is attached?

an interesting/plausable theory thankyou for that

i sincererly hope the rumours of peters death have been grossly over stated,i was privileged to have dealings with him some years ago and always found him a total gentleman, a great find in this aviation preservation world.
