An old World Air Power Journal issue had a small article on the A-50 and did feature a few internal shots of the workstations if I remember right. I have all of them, I’ll go check a bit later.

Flankerman, I would love if you could share with all of us this true treasure!!!

A-50 ‘s internal shot was feature in Chinese TV in 2005,the workstation was arrange in 2 vertical order, rather than horizontal as in E-3A.
while LRU was mounted in the ceiling, and cabin was not pressurized similiar in civilian aircraft.
the workstation use conventional CRT display.
this definitely ,an early variant of A-50

    1. No Iranian F-14s ever reached Russia
    2. The pictures are fake.

    Point.

according to a 1997 issue of JDW,article about iranian aerospace, the iranian plan to reengine some of F-14 and F-4 with russian angine and avionic system, particulalry the radar.and russia admitted they managed to obtain 2 F-14

The Chinese copy of KH-31P is YJ-91, the seeker of which may adopt Israeli Harpy technology.

Another important & exciting note: not only we see the J11B but also we see its action of firing PL-12 MR active radar homing AAM.

According to Kanwa,PLAAF obtain liscense production of KH-31,from AR seeker to propulsion.
KH-31 seeker is quite bulky ,some part is still using transistor rather than modern IC .

Probably, you have an IIR version, AshM version and ARM version.

IIR does not mean you remove the man in the loop system, with a guy looking at a TV. IIR may only mean that the images being received are infrared, not light. A true light system would have problems for night attack; IIR eliminates that. Optical and IIR can also be combined so you can have a visual light mode and an infrared mode.

2 years ago while in Hk public library,I came across bi monthly magazine “chinese Mlitary engineering asst.” it feature article about infran red imaging seeker for anti missile, other such battlefield interneting, heat exchanger for helos.
C-701 EO seeker already incorporate automatic target recognition.IR imaging version no doubt may also incorporate ATR .

is an article in Chinese, dated 31 January 2007, about PLAAF J-6s. Four pages, with some vintage photos.

The text mentions a few air kills by PLAAF J-6s: ROCAF RF-101s, USAF BQM-147G Firebees, and USAF F-4C.

] But the WZ-10 looks a bit small, like the size of Italian Augusta

Or maybe it’s just CCTV-9 is making an Air Wolf or Blue Thunder movie. 8)
Trumpeter hasn’t made a model of a “New Chinese Attack Helo” yet, has it?
After all, Trumpeter mass-produced a model of a “New Chinese Jet Fighter” back in 2004, IIRC.

WZ-10 and Z-10 civilian helos vibration test was carry out in Augusta plant, italy.
the size of the aircraft is near identical to AH-1.

You really know nothing. That’s because of all the systems that was developed, the MKK’s system is the one that had the most certifications and testing, and all of that was already paid for by the Chinese.

The difference is one, the AWACS is considered strategic, and the MKK’s radar as being tactical. Furthermore, the MKK’s system is hardly the technological edge but the AWACS system is.

And without someone buying it, either the IAF, the PLAAF or the RuAF, that thing won’t be certified eitehr.

Go check it out yourself since you’re so good in finding things. I am only telling you that the news reports on the numbers of MKKs have been erroneous with most media except KANWA.

Lol. The Chinese put a rotodome on top of a B-29 so believe me they have practice. And I doubt that the Y-8 with the rotodome now is their only one; they would have certainly made studies and demonstrators. Pictures of such planes appeared years ago but were then dismissed as PS. Now, we’re not sure of that anymore.

BS*t. Even the Russians are stunned by the Chinese ability to research and develop things

When you’re inviting people, you probably don’t have enough of the technology themselves.

Yes, nothing more than evaluation samples.

Not really as well. until a customer orders them. Kopyo and BARS are certified because India was ordering.

What? Your ignorance about the aviation industry really shows here. All F-16 system are certified before they were even sold. The reason why F-16s take years to obtain is in having a long customer list.

And you don’t know anything about the Su-30MK2. The systems there are exactly like the MKK’s except for a processor and software upgrade.

    Bull.

    LETRI:

    SY-80

The FC-1 is being sold to Pakistan with Chinese radar that can use the SD-10 missile. That’s the bottomline now.

One of the reasons why China has not been willing to sell fighter radars before to Pakistan is the Chinese paranoia for secrecy. I’m pretty sure the US among others would like to see a set first hand. The intel purposes is that obvious. When you make a fighter radar that you plan to export, make sure it operates on a different set of frequencies or work in different specifications than the ones you are using in your own aircraft.

The US did take Israel to the task for this and still doing it today.

You got to be joking. The Chinese were able to write FBW software themselves. FBW software is not transferrable from aircraft to aircraft, they are strictly customized for it. You cannot even share the FBW software between a Lavi and a J-10.

Actually the China did offer chineses radar, but the Pakistani which has access to the latest US and European radar technology (rememeber there large number of Pakistani engineer being employ by Saudi arabian AF to maintain F-15 and tornado) realized Chinese make avionic is generation behind.this may be the reason why they select the european radar.

Well, I check the original words in Chinese from Prof Zhang Daguang from Chinese National Defense University and what he said in the interview is “China is also developing technologies for stealth bombers ” not “stealth bombers” so the title: Chinese Stealth Bomber Plan Unveiled is not accurate. Most likely Chinese is building up relevant technologies databank for future the real stealth bomber developments.

the guy who originally post the message is to excited, the reality, when it come to design a large and complex aircraft , China is 2~3 generation behind.

Brazil do not need highly sophisticate fighter aircraft, when the real threat was internal, not external.
I just read that average 20 people were killed in the slum of San paola, one out of 5 is unemployed, just last week, heavely armed gangs member attack police station resulting large casualties for both side.giving this problem,Brazil better concentrate there limited resources trying to fight this problem.

Pakistan may secretly approached China for AWACS 1~2 years ago, after find it difficult to obtain it from sweden.
the timely official release from pakistan news agency was to send a political message (most likely) to india.
last month, a Y-8/AWACS was seen in Pakistan AF base.it is likely the joint Sino-pakistan AWACS may base on Y-8/AWACS radar system,or PAF may select alternative platform such as Embrazer or airbus which has longer range and much bigger lift.

The people from Jane’s need to learn how to read properly. The sign at Zhuhai is QW-IB and QW-II. Where the hell did QW-18 and 11 come from?

QW-11 and Qw-18 has new fuse and seeker, both missile use laser proximinity fuse plus glazing (contact fuse) and new dual band UV/IR seeker.

China no longer need Russia help in combat fighter.. license Su-27 now can have own Chinese engine and even different cokpit that is more efficient and cleaner looking. for 5th generation, China can do it on her own now and will bet anyone they will reach it first before Russia. also MiG 1.44 or S-37 do not count as 5th generation. it is just half made test bed.

Is that your private opinion? or Chinese new policy ?

I’m surprised Iran never buy PRC JH-7A strike aircraft to increase their strike capabilites since they got plenty of c-802. Btw,anybody know their F-4 and Su-24 capable of operating the C-802?

about 2 years ago, (probably during the zhuhai 2004 air show) janes defense weekly was told that iranian refusal to buy large combat aircraft since iran has limited (financial)resources.

your example is not good because the country you say have no choice. What other airplane can Indai use on Gorshkov that do not need catapult? just MiG-29K and Harrier
What western country will sell latest fighter to Algeria? Just Russia
what airplane can Yemen afford? Just Russia

Country where they have more options.. they buy others
Bangladesh – got rid of MiG-29 and go for Chinese because it is easy to fly and cheap to operate
Malaysia – priority go to F-18E and Su-30, not MiG-29
    India – prefer Mirage 2000 and Su-30
Poland – prefer brand new F-16

and they say MiG-29 suck because the user did not use it like how it is supposed to be use.. so i ask you how is it suppose to be use eh?

MIG-29 inherite from GDR,German or Ex-west german AF discover MIG-29 has slightly higher maintainance cost than F-4 phantom.high cost of maintainance is just one of the factor why Germany decided to send it to Poland, despite the aircraft great manueverity.
