    Battle of Britain

A good film with a lot of nice aerial footage. Limited battle damage effects (mostly engines, gunners and pilots) and annoying repeats here and there, but I wouldn’t let that ruin the experience as a whole. Then again I don’t know enough about aviation from that era to make a real judgement.

NATO OPERATION ALLIED FORCE: YUGOSLAVIA – KOSOVO, 1999

4 May 1999, a French Aeronaval Super Etendard reportedly shot down a Yugoslavian Mi-8 Hip helicopter with its cannons. (“Operacion Fuerza Aliada, Mision Cumplida, by the Editors, Fuerza Aerea Ano.II Vol.1 No.5 1999, Neagari Press, Valencia, Spain via Santiago Flores; Air Force News).

If anyone has more info on this event please post it!!!!!!!

That’s odd. The FULCRUM kills are pretty known, but I can’t say I’ve heard anything about this before.

You guys suffer from incurable reality check indisposition…

Thanks, by the way. I like to try to be a bit open-minded. I have never denied your allegations for that matter, but I’m not exactly convinced either.

Please skip this game of pointless accusations, we’ve been down this road before. This concerns “both” parties.

and the missile to damage this building

An odd gaff if that is what it is, but what does it prove?

The reality is something between what you describe and what the European media must be describing to you (yes, it is cell-structured, yes, there are groups that work independant of each other, but yes, bin Laden and his buddies do represent a titular “head” of the organization…that’s an oversimplification, but there you go). The American media doesn’t necessarily portray AQ as a massive multitentacled organization Bin Laden uses to wreak havoc worldwide, but the problem in OUR media is that they don’t really explain what AQ is, either.

The Norwegian media often presents the post-OEF organisational structure of al-Qaeda in a similar manner as described by Sean; a highly disintegrated “network” consisting of different cells. The idea of a joint, cooperating network has become more uncertain as al-Qaeda itself is by some regarded more as an idea/a concept/an agenda rather than an actual organisation. This idea of a violent struggle may have been adopted by a number of groups which do not necessarily represent an al-Qaeda body. This way the agenda can “live on” despite the altered state of the original network. I can’t tell if it was like this before 2001/2002, with independent cells rather than sub-groups of the network in places like Afghanistan, or if it is a result of the “reforms” forced upon the organisation by the coalition. Perhaps the word “outsourcing” could fit into the context somehow?

Now you’re grasping at straws. There are numerous extremist groups in Europe, the media is fully used to reporting on them.

Agree. Speculation about relations to al-Qaeda isn’t a rare phenomena, but many of the articles I’ve read about groups in Europe often refer to other names. The question of something like an “al-Qaeda central command” pulling the strings hasn’t been getting much column space.

    Homo sapien femalus

At least one military aviation psychologist I’ve met would disagree. It doesn’t mean that he holds the whole truth, though.

Well I have to confess that I sometimes feel entertaining to ‘flame’ or ‘troll’ with people of extreme obinion or ones living in their own realityes…there are few blue eyed, self righteoness smart ass members that come into almoust all threads even distantly related to their ‘craft’ and begun their boast. Then Its almoust impossiple to resist the temptaition to throw something them to grap on…

Just try to avoid getting dragged down to a certain level.
