In Saudi Arabia for example there are daily cartoon depicting Jews as greedy, hook nosed beings, hell bent on malice and deception – this is just as offensive as the Muslim cartoons and reminisant of Nazi propoganda. How come Arab newspapers are not slated in the same way as the Danish and other European newspapers??
Ah, I just looove double standards… 🙂
The editor of the paper apologised. Should the Danish PM?
What did the editor apologize for?
In my opinion, Fogh Rasmussen does not have an obligation to apologize for anything.

talk about “one sided” mind, we have to tolerate that, but they cant?
Not to mention the way some Arab newspapers sometimes depict Jews (if this is true).

Wikipedia.org: Muhammad cartoons controversy
This adds to the suspicion that there are other things at work here. The cartoons themselves may serve as some sort of a catalyzer previously hanging high on the wishlists of extremists on “both sides.” Clearly there are existing agendas made by those who seek confrontation for other reasons, and the cartoons offered these people a pretty strong tool for mobilizing a whole lot of people. There is also reason to believe that elements close to the authorities in Syria and Iran have intentions to use this in order to divert attention from themselves, put people up against the West etc.

The BBC News have just described Mr Hamza as “A very bad man”. I bet the reporter was dying to say “He’s not a radical cleric, he’s just a naughty boy”. 😀

I thought I should post this link as I hope it may help counter narrow-mindedness and other potentially harmful thoughts and feelings resulting from the current events.

It was totally uncalled for and the culprits should be dealt with as Syrian law prescribes.
There may be something more to the embassy attacks than reaches the surface. Isn’t it a well-known fact that the authoritarian Assad regime has considerable power over Islamistic movements within Syria, even more than these incidents would otherwise indicate?
Direct involvement or not, the Syrian Government, having failed to provide the required level of security, will be held responsible for the destruction of the Norwegian Embassy in Damascus.
Extremists are using Islam as an excuse and it is about time that the leaders of the religion condem those who stir up violence towards the ‘west’.
Several Muslim leaders and organizations have condemned the violence, but I don’t think we should expect them to be able to control extremists.
