Having had a think I would have a tentative guess at RAF Henlow.
Jon
Must be one of the more traditional airfields as there are 3 belfast truss hangars in the background.
Jon
How old is that picture?
If she looked like that recently, how on earth did she end up on 3 continents simultaneously?
Late 70’s or early 80’s – either way years before the hangar collapse.
Jon
I am sure that Mark P will be able to give you chapter and verse on this project.
http://www.airtalk.org/avro-lincoln-to-australia-vt35824.html
Aircraft was CF-AMD, CF-TQC, G-BCOH and was damaged in the hangar collapse on 12/8/87.
Hang on which project?!?
Initial post was about the basket case of parts in the US made up predominantly of KB976 (plus others) with Kermit Weeks, now you are talking about the Lincoln project is Australia which also has parts of KB976. Then lets not forget the rear fuselage section of KB976 that is still here with a museum in the UK 😀

Jon, what does the SG and LG stand for?
The length on the inbuilt bolt to attach it to the GGS mount I believe – S for Short and L for Long. Have seen LG’s cut down to fit, but dont worry about picking one up by mistake as they have different part numbers so easy to spot.
Jon
Can anyone tell me if the Mk. 4E SG gunsight is a standard item, as i know the Wyvern S.4 used the Mk. 4E gunsight but i’m not sure if it differed in any way to one fitted to say a Hunter (stores ref 8B/2912).?!
Bog standard as far as I am aware. If there was a difference then would have a different part number. Fitted to Sea Hawks as well for whats its worth 🙂 Also Meatbox’s – pretty sure they also use SG’s as opposed to LG’s.

Hi Jon,
The only aircraft listed with tyres of 7.25 x 7 3/4 size are the Prentice & Provost, the tyre having a Dunlop part number of DR6610.
Hope that helps!
Best regards
Dave
How about a tyre with a Dunlop part number DR6620? Found that today whilst removing one of the wheels.

Bit more info on the previous thread about this model –

Jon,i plan to cut the wings just outboard of the main gear………not like we did with WZK..we will use plates between the spars and on the spars.
Ah…. 🙂
In that case then how was WZK put back together? Always handy to know these things as we never know what we might be offered for Speke!
Jon
Out of interest how will the wings be reattached once it has been moved given she will be cut inboard of the undercarriage?
Jon
Wonder if it would be a complete airframe or fuselage?
Given only a handful of Nimrod R1’s were built, you can get some idea of the possibles.
Jon
That was bloody good!
I think most of us on the forum are just big kids! 😀
Boys never grow up – we just have more money to buy better toys 😀
Jon
Does anyone have a picture of G-ALWF in British Eagle Livery. If so could you please advise me so that I may satisfy my friend’s curiosity
Scheme will have been identical to the one on sister ship G-ATFN here –

Hi Jon,
The list only has it as Percival Provost under the section Light Aircraft-United Kingdom. There is mention in the military section of Jet Provost but no details, so would assume that it’s the Piston Provost!
Regards
Dave
Also given the Piston Provost was design P.56 and the Prince P.57 I am inclined to agree!
Looking at picture’s, Prentice mains are the wrong design so looks like Provost is the only other type that is similar.
So has anyone got a pair of Provost mains going spare? 😀
Jon
Are you thinking of the Rolls Royce owned Mk XIV RM689? (Much later than 1970’s though, more like early 90’s)
That sad event happened at Woodford in 1992
