In 1.991 the Mig-21UM and the Mig-21Bis still flew at Kamen na Obi Air Academy training new pilots.

Thank you Jakepilot for the info. Finally i was unable to find again the link. You say, you open one page, and other, and other and forget add to favorites. I enclose some more pics of the same location. Can anyone identify the base/country? More info about the planes also welcomed.
Photo 1: What is the exact type please?
Photo 2: Perhaps the tower helps to base idetification.
Photo 3: Usaf, Cia, Private?

Thanks for the replies mates. I have little info about the photo. I find it in a personal album of a russian or ukranian antonov cargo pilot. No idea when the photo was taken. I supposse recently. I have others pics from the same location and at the same place. The russian pilot apparently take photos awaiting clearance for taxi. A lot of sand in the ground. Perhaps the photo was taken in Irak or other arab friendly contry. (Qatar, Emirates, etc). Afghanistan less probable. But is an air base. Not airport.
All traffic capted are military. Two english Tornados, a C-5 Galaxy, a Globemaster and others. If i remember, i post the link later.
Regards from Spain.
Tiyas is at
34 31 29 N 37 38 00 E
just copy-paste that in the search bar on your GE and hit Enter
18 MiG-25s can be seen scattered around the base
Find, again. Thank you for the help googeler.:)
Regards from Spain.
Its me or the syrian air force base at Tiyas has “erased” from Google Earth?. I was unable to find it today. Last year i remember this base with some syrian Mig-25 parked. But i think in the last “update” of Google Earth this base was gone.
Anyone has the coordinates?
As a matter of fact, I could see neither Su-27 nor Su-24 recognizable in the backdrop. nevertheless, I’ve been straining all my senses to detect them all you made mention of.
I should like to lean toward MiG-21, instead, That may be all the more reasonable because a serise of the latest GE images can be put together to report of some active MiG-21MF sitting idle on the ground pitted with revetments in Lubango AB.

Great photos and links as usual Cy24driver1 thanks. The syrian Mi-8 has “naval roundel” I think.
About the angolan Lubango shelters phto. I enclose a new image. I see almost two planes. One silver on the left with the nose covered by blue tarpaulin, seems doble tail fin ¿Su-27?. On the right, one dark brown camouflated plane with black nose. ¿Su-24 iranian style? I not shure.
Regards from Spain.
Thanks guys, I knew you would like what I found. I was searching for the photos of new dark green-earth camo. Mi-24 and I found that web site.

With the surreptitious export of Su-25K frogfoots to Sudan, The belarussians have emerged once again as major arms supplier for African countries banned on the list of UN arms embargo. My congrat on winning a whopping billion-dollars contract !! lol 😀
It looks like that it came off the show-room floor just now !!!! Seems like they’re looking to spending more money generated by the state-owned oil industry output on russian fighter jets, as if they’re totally dissatisfied with some PRC-built A-5 Fantan attackers in its inventory, which is qualitatively less effective than thought.
Given the fact that helpful details concerning the Sudan’s recent acquisition of Su-25K are completely lacking, therefore It came across to me as somewhat mightily unusual.
Can any one follow up with more photos available online? :dev2:

Although I agree with sparka, the name was not applied just for MiG-21 or MiG-23, but basically for any twin seat variant, including Su-7UM, MuG-29UB, even Su-27UB and is still widely used in Czech or Slovak AF, as well. The name has nothing do with *spark*, it is a slang designation of something that is *paired* (two seats).
Thank you for the explanation Flex 🙂
Regards from Spain.
Two seat trainers like MIg-21UM, Mig-23UB and others are called “sparka” (spark) and in some units the Mig-23 was called “chiboraska” (a popular russian TV cartoon). I think that the same aircraft type has different nicknames in the units. Long time ago i read that in GDR soviet units the Mig-23 was called “the piper” due high noise of his engine, but not shure it is true.

Thanks for the comments and the additional info. I assume also that the plane is for the Indian Air Force.
