Thanks for the replies. By the moment this is the only An-124 modified, i think. I make a search on Airlines.net and no found photos of others “Ruslans” in this configuration. It´s curious.
Regards from Spain.
Of course it is taken in Syria. It’s written under the picture “Syria, 2008”, just that nobody read it, instead preferring to launch speculations.
Besides, it wouldn’t make any sense for the Syrians to send their old Mi-8s to Ukraine just to be trashed and left to root – they can do that at home, cheaper :diablo:
No speculations googeler. The first day, when I posted the link, the caption under the photo says “Ucraine”. Later, the author modified the caption. Obviously it knows where the photo became but it does not say it.
Nice album sainz. Thanks for share.
:eek:Syrians Mi-8? Shure not ucranian…

¿Ethiopian Mig-27? ¿Anyone know or has this magazine?
Hi Strato
The gate-guard is in Hurgada.
Thank you for the update dingodog 🙂
Abjazian L-39 with missile.
Regards from Spain.
Congrats to all for those great photos.
Egyptian Mig-21 gateguard. Unidentified egyptian Air Base.
Regards from Spain.:)
😮 Looks in less than desirable condition.. The bird surely could use some serious maintenance. If this is what they sent for the airshow then what does the rest of the fleet look like? 😎
Could it be that this is the same machine that was involved in the landing accident in Mehrabad in April 2008?
Nope. The Fencer in the ha27 photo has black nose and white tail. The crashed Su-24 has dirty white or grey nose and camo tail (no white in the upper part).
Regards from Spain.
This strut can be clearly seen hanging between the wheels in some of the pictures of this site:
http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/aircraft/uav/hermes_450/Hermes_450.html
It can either be an antenna or some kind of arrestor hook.
The real problem appears to be the launching point of the missile. It looks to me as if the missile is fired from the wingtip of the fighter. The MIG-29 has no wingtip pylons, so it is either a SU-27 which can be the case given the small siluette of the airplane and the similarities between the 2 models, or it is in deed a fake.
Yes, I agree about the launch from wingtip. I think that the coastal footage from the UAV are real, but i have serious doubts about the “plane” and the hit. Very powerful “record unit” by the way… Survived the impact, the explosion …the fall to the sea… and the inmersion in the water?…
Is just my opinion of course…
Somethings strange on this video. Perhaps fake or manipuled.
Copied from another forum:
Recorded plate of a video recording the area of UAV flying around – Check
Pre-Planed camera movement, and tracking (based on the story board and the initial planning)- Check
A CG model of Mig-29/Su-27 – online any ammount of polygons – Check (if needed to model your own, 2 days max. I would say 4000 polygons since the model wont be getting close to the view)

Animating a missle with attached dynamic smoke effect – Check
Rendering the plane with Global Illumination lighting solution to match the model with background – Check
Applaying digital dynamic volumetric haze on the frame – Check

😮 Russian IFF antenna under the fuselage behind the nose gear?
Conspicuous absence of FENCERs?
Fencers probably precautionary grounded after the emergency landing at Teheran-Mehrabad on 14-04-2008.
Thanks for the help Phantom71 and Jackonicko. 🙂
