On this subject – if you have a clear blue sky behind (ie no background so to speak) could you get away with mode one while panning??

Would you gain anything or whould it not work??

Or am I being thick in my asumption that it will only really work when there is a background!?

I had a looksy in the Lanc when the ‘BBMF Boys’ put on the splendid flypast forum open evening a couple of years ago – I expect after her Major she is in even better shape now – looked splended before!

My first flight was in a 172 on a trip to and from Leicester – it was the clubs aircraft – maybe G- GBGC – or something like it – I cant remember!! – but I remember it had a red stripe and I was able to ‘have a go’ – and it was the day before my geography o level exam in about 84 or 85 …….the chap who flew us was building a evans VP2 at the time. great experience – it was also my Dad’s first flight – he didnt like the bit when the pilot chatted to him in the back while I was ‘flying!’

My first Historic was with my sister (who was having her first flight ever!) in an AA Dak from Bruntingthorpe at the Big Thunder airshow – now was that 1993 or 1994 -must be getting old cant remember!!

Most recent classic flight was in the AA Devon from Cov- last year with my Dad on his second flight!! – he loved it to bits!

If the Mirror and Sun don’t warm to Gordon you can bet Conservatives will be in – its not a matter of politics – they are all much the same these days – it will be decided by the media dictating to the masses – the masses following like sheep as always :rolleyes: .

I often wondered what happened to the ship after it was re-floated? – I seem to remember that it was on tow to somewhere like India (was that for scrapping or I hope not – refitting??) and did it break free on route or something??
