Bungay on the front cover always surprise’s me. It looked pretty much intact when the book was published, but you would be hard pushed to find it nowadays.
With hadcore price’s being very high at the moment it wouldn’t supprise me if we loose quite a lot more of whats left in the near future. 🙁

You might get some more info if you post your request on PPRUNE.
There is a thread currently running about the Varsity over in the Aviation History and Nostalgia section located here;

Hello David
Do you have any idea what the plans for G-BLSC/VR-BPS/VP-BPS are?
Will it ever fly again do you think?
A neighbour of mine has a large collection of 23 squadron photographs.
I was looking at one of the albums the other day, it contained quite a few aircrew portraits.
I will ask him if he has a picture of Francis.
Joe
Channel 4 Time Team?
Brillant – thanks.
On a similar note, apart from Crash and Smash taking Newark’s T2 apart, has any jetstream 200 / T1 or 2 been stripped down before? By that I mean wing removal. We are having considerable headaches with the front spar scarf joint. Access is a bit tricky to the upper nuts……
Have you tried Brooklands?

I thought that but then again i thought i had read somewhere it was being restored to static condition.
To be fair, I think they are restoring a couple to static condition for museums, and one to fly, which is the one mentioned on the website.
Retro Track and Air are restoring one, I presume to airworthy condition.
Drove past Cranwell the other day and saw a Jaguar running up outside the Engineering School on the far side of the airfield.
There is going to be one about the Harrier and how the government didn’t want to get involved until the Americans became interested.

If he wants to keep a Jag flying, best he put a bid in for a couple of these:
Well not unless I was dreaming it was on there.
I read now on another forum that Heaylift have asked the CL44 association to find it a new home.
With Attacker wings it would have been the Seafang rather than the Spiteful…
Presumably the only place you would hope to find a set of Attacker wings would be Pakistan. As these were land based did they have the folding wings?
This aircraft & the Belfast at SEN are almost certainly never going to fly again & if something can’t be arranged VERY soon they will be scrapped:eek:.
If anyone on this forum has a serious interest in saving one or both, they should contact the CL44 Association as soon as possible, I understand that they are in a position to broker a deal.
Duxford is not an option, as neither aircraft is powered by Merlin’s!
This country could have the last chance to preserve a CL44, there are only 3 left.PM me if you like, but I am not directly involved.
So the CL44 is not going to BAM then ?
