I didn’t claim it went down due to the weather.. more to the point, a sloppy rundown of the aircraft.
You have to do long hours of engine test run prior to any high speed test run and finaly first flight.

You are right:) Hope we get some good news from an reliable source soon…

    Easy people!
This is almost mid-winter in KnAAPO region.
If the thing has flown.. it could easily be one or two days delays from the time media picks it up.

Eighter way, there is no rush, only a safty flight regulation plan to make sure the prototype does not crash.. we all remember the Su-35 ‘904’ protoype which almost claimed Frolov life..

Su-35 ‘904’ didn’t crash because of the weather conditions and where is serial Su-35S its still unknown! It would also fly late 2010 as the second PAK-FA prototype;) In my opinion we should check the sources that we believe in!

‘Tender’ for 5G engine was – as it was predicted – just a proforma, and while Salyut has shown much more promising results with gas generator, Saturn got the contract. Head of NPO Saturn Ilya Fyodorov and Chief designer of its branch Lyulka Engineeering Center Eugeny Marchukov are in charge of new engine. Program got classified codename and Article number (Izdeliye 127?), project design specifications are signed, and work is given green light/full throttle.

Does it mean the second stage 5th gen. engine works started officially?

Russian-Indian joint development of 5G fighter jet to cost $ 6 billion – HAL

The Russian-Indian joint development of a fifth generation fighter jet will cost some $ 6 billion, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) Financial director D. (HAL) Financial director D. Shivamurti said

Russia and India signed in December last year a contract to jointly develop a design for a new 5G multirole fighter. Russia’s Sukhoi holding and India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Limited agreed in early 2010 to jointly develop a fifth-generation fighter jet based on the T-50 design.

“A detailed design phase, including the cost of the project, is likely to cost more than $6 billion,” Shivamurti said.”The work between us and them [India and Russia] will be distributed in a 35/65 proportion.”
Russia has been developing its own fifth-generation fighter since the 1990s. The current prototype, known as the T-50, was designed by the Sukhoi design bureau and built at a plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Russia’s Far East.

Russian officials have already hailed the fighter as “a unique warplane” that combines the capabilities of an air superiority fighter and attack aircraft.

Russia is planning to use the jointly-developed 5G fighter as an export version of T-50, while India is expecting the new fighter aircraft to enter service with its air force by 2020.

Upgraded MiG-29UPG for India performs its maiden flight

The maiden test flight of the upgraded for India MiG-29UPG took place at Zhukovsky airfield near Moscow on February 4, 2010. RAC “MiG” has successfully performed upgrade of MiG-29 fighter to MiG-29UPG version for the Indian Air Force. The duration of the flight was about 1 hour and has passed without incident. The flight was performed by Chief of Flight Service, senior test pilot of RAC “MiG”, Michael Beljaev, a MiG statement said.

India had signed a $960 million contract with Russia in 2008 to upgrade five squadrons of MiG-29 fighters which are nearly 20 years old. The upgrade involves increasing the service life of approximately 69 MiG-29s, from the present 25 years (2,500 flight hours) to 40 years (3,500 hours). The upgrades are also expected to turn these air-superiority fighters into competent all-weather multi-role jets with beyond-visual-range combat capabilities.

While the first six MiG-29s will be upgraded in Russia, the rest will be retrofitted by HAL in Nasik, India. The upgrade programme includes replacing existing radars with the advanced multi-functional Zhuk-ME radar and a new weapon control system. The twin-engined MiG-29s will carry sophisticated air-to-air missiles, high-accuracy air-to-ground missiles and ‘smart aerial’ bombs. The Russian RAC MiG company will also plough back 30 per cent of the contract value into India by setting up consignment depots and service centres, along with simulator centres with training aids.

President Medvedev appoints new UAC head

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has appointed General Director of the Sukhoi and MiG aircraft companies Mikhail Pogosyan as head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich said Monday.

Pogosyan will replace current UAC President Alexei Fyodorov, who will lose his post for failing to implement Medvedev’s orders on drafting innovation programs for the company.

“The president ordered the administration and the government to evaluate the responsibility of a number of companies [for failure to implement innovation programs], and the decision on one of the companies has been made…Pogosyan will take over the United Aircraft Corporation,” Dvorkovich said.

Dvorkovich earlier said about 60% of Russian state-run companies failed to draft innovation programs and increase spending on R&D by the end of last year in line with Medvedev’s instructions.

UAC, a state-controlled corporation, was established in 2006 to streamline the Russian aircraft making industry. It incorporates aircraft-making and affiliated firms engaged in the manufacture, design and marketing of civilian and military aircraft, including unmanned aerial vehicles.

AW149. Turkey is interested in it. Maybe Meteor, other missiles, ships – all sorts of possibilities.

On 22 June 2008, the agreement between TUSAS Aerospace Industries and AgustaWestland formally entered into force. It has now been confirmed that the T-129 will be a 100% Turkish built platform. Under the agreement, TAI will develop an indigenous mission computer, avionics, weapons systems, self-protection suites and the helmet-mounting cuing systems. TUSAS Engine Industries Inc (TEI) will manufacture the LHTEC CTS800-4N engines under licence. Under the agreement, Turkey has full marketing and intellectual property rights for the T-129 platform. There are also no restrictions imposed on Turkey for the export or transfer of the platform to third countries (excluding Italy and the United Kingdom).
