So according to Groomi, second PAK-FA flying airframe will not fly before the new years.
Groomi was the only reliable source who gave us info about the first flight of the bird, also this time he’s the most reliable source for me! Thanks Groomi 🙂
You should check the Mig-35 and Mig-35D 😉 But as you can see from the news that today Mig corporation is not as busy as Sukhoi. Maybe in the future we can see them actively working on future deck fighter program or lightweight 5th gen fighter, probably after 2015-2016!
Seems like the first flight of the second prototype will be conducted after the participation of India. In 2010!
Look at J10’s story, you should know having official statement before success is not Chinese style. However, on official newspapers, there are lots of reports saying that many big bosses from government and air force have continually visited Chengdu Aircraft Company in this month, that means…
Its something like, I did it and it is! Radar technology, missile technology, advanced radar absorbing materials and shape, complex software(artificial intelligence), 360 degree situational awareness, 5th generation engine… So in my opinion its not an easy task to do for a new player in the aviation market!
When is it planning the first flight of the 2nd prototype? At early news it was planning for december but at latest news it calls for november.Should we wait for these days?
According to topics in Chinese military forums, Chinese 5th Gen fight will have its maiden flight by the end of this year.
Any official statement?
Is there any info, which project or projects “RSK MiG” working on? What are the houndreds of engineers, designers working about? Or do they support to the other projects?
Turkey’s undersecretary of defence industries procurement agency is in talks with KAI to remove an option for a further 15 KT-1s from the programme.
That means Hurkus project is going well:)
For years I read news abot the successor of the A-50 and this year the creator of the radioelectronic sytems of the A-50, NPO Vega’s head stated that they have created a very advanced product which is better than the A-50I but for comforming the customer’s needs they need some high quality components and looking for foreign companies for the JV. And the base platform for the successor of the A-50 will also be an IL-76 variant. Hope we see more modern console tables.
Yes, Hurkus. Their air force probably evaluated it and went for KT-1.
Good on them for selecting the best even if it is not home grown. 😉
Hurkus is still in development and at assembly stage;)
KT-1 is an interim solution before the serial production of HurkuÅŸ.
First flight is planning for 2011 and the stated characteristics of the bird is not inferior to its any competitors.
Its designed in acordance with the EASA CS 23 norm so its going to be an advanced product in the market:)
medal64, do you have any reliable source for Zhuk Aesa. It could just be a media hot air.
black venom, thanks for video. T-50’s wing placement, shape and size certainly gives it an intimidating look. Considering you are from Serbia, what are Serbia’s chances of getting a squadron of Pak-Fa in maybe 10-15 years.
I just got it from the media news! Can’t say completely right but its not suprising for me because its eventually will be an export variant with some foreign avionics and materials! And its not just going to sell to the India!!! Because of this reason in my opinion at foreign markets they don’t sell the fighter with the most advanced radar so they need to develop an export AESA. As you know the development costs are very high and the just alternative AESA creator in Russia is Phazotron and the financial situation of the Phazotron is not very good!
Do you wait a suprise at the FGFA engines, such they did at the Zhuk-AE AESA radar? I mean AL-31FM2, 117S engines or an Klimov variant with the flat nozzles on it?
Well, here’s your chance to change it for the better! 🙂
Maybe we should try it but military aircrafts are more exciting 🙂
GA , I thought about it but I find the “Commerical Aviation” forum a sort of dead place but I will post the commericial aviation news there , Thanks for reminding me 🙂
Agreed, its not a good place for sharing such kind of developments because there isn’t many people who interests future commercial aircrafts.

Is this poject actively funding today? I just remember a news at interfax news agency, which was about one or two years ago, TsAGI – Central Aerohydrodynamics Institute was working such a wide body aircarft! But later there wasn’t any news about this bird, hope we see it but today in Russian aviation industry the most promising civilian aviation project is MS-21!
