There was one report that said it had been seen crawling back into the water across the road on the east-side of the Loch.

Fish, yes. Something that wasn’t a fish and was larger than a fish…no.
The canal would be difficult to transverse without being seen due to the seven locks between the loch and the sea, and the creature would need to be very patient and determined, knowing what it needed to do and when to makes its move.
The river would also be difficult; it is shallow along most of its length, knee deep in the low season at its deepest, and there are also two weirs to navigate. Salmon can get through since the fish channels were designed for their transit, but a larger ‘monster’ whose head might be the size of a salmon (I mean, who knows?) would have great difficulty.

But its dead – there hasn’t been a reported sighting of Nessie for 18 months… http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-26081992

But little fish have of habit growing in to very large fish, beluga sturgeon at 15ft long would get your attention don’t you think.

A large creature that can operate a lock? I think not…

So you don’t think something could swim up/down the lock system.

But I can’t get a canal barge down my bath, that’s what the canal was built for so a large creature would have no problem.:stupid:

Loch Ness is some 52 feet above sea level.

Were it indeed open to the sea it would inevitably fall to exactly match sea level.

    Moggy

Moggy I think the Caledonian Canal links Loch Ness to the sea by a hell of a lot of locks, so it is in a way open to the sea:D

Helping out with a war YOU started. 🙂
IIRC, the UK declared war on Germany, not the other way around.
Sure you did it t meet a treaty obligation and to stand up for Poland…but when the US starts a war for the same basic reasons, we’re the bad guy.

I’ve often wondered that if Germany had not declared war on the US first, whether America would have got involved in the European conflict.

My late father helped pull one guy out of a 130sqd Sabre at RAF Bruggen after he walked passed the intake when it was running up, luck had it he survived.

Do the Mods approve of this? The only Historic aviation connection I can see is that ‘Kate Middleton’s’ future husband is patron of the BBMF.

O.K. BUT the big bang, is only a theory. And at the end of the day, what has the finding out of the big bang achieved?. Just employing many people for Donkeys years, and for what?. What will it have achieved, will it make yous or my life any better? Why are we not exploring the Seas, Oceans on our own planet, little of which is known.
