Hear hear! That’s also something I find in the job, many of my European colleagues have a fantastic grasp of English. As I have only a smattering of French and German, my colleagues at work and the Europeans (and others) on here put me (and I would imagine most Brits) to shame on a regular basis.
Steve,
Of wil je soms ook een beetje Nederlands leren?
translate mode on:
Or do you want to learn a bit Dutch as well?
I can always start by teaching you the foul language, that seems to be remembered better, at least that’s what Ian Foster told me and he swears beautifully in Dutch. I only had to tell him to keep it down a bit while in a Pub in Amsterdam last year ๐ฎ .

Probably the FLAK-types  ๐
Cees
Guess
Pity I don’t like flying much, used to. But a flight in an very old EasyJet 737 in a storm over the Channel and a near collision with an ultralight over the Bristol Channel calmed things down a bit (channel? must be a pattern here). ๐ก

Thanks TT,
If you look at the surplus and wants section there are some very exciting projects going on at the moment.

have noticed a fair bit still comes up on an auction site, but dont know if these are recent digs or not
Some of these are from old digs and some even well known such as the Time Team Spitfire dig in France. Lately some items from the Halifax that crashed near Walton-on-the-Naze have appeared on e-bay. This crashed very close to where the RAF Museum’s Hurricane wreck was recovered. The wreck was recovered by an ATC unit I believe (the Halifax that is).
Some propblades were used in a monument, but the wreckage was quite substantial up until the seventies.
Anyone know more of it?

Running out of wrecks sites in Holland Cees? :diablo:
Hmm, actually thinking of exporting some to the UK. :dev2: :p

Florian,
How about helping out at Duxford, there is an Ambassador that needs some work.
Cees
That’s quick then, pity for Ross’s life’s work I guess. He did some amazing work. But his loss is Europe’s gain.
Cheers
Cees
Well ehm Mark,
Yes, you may have a rest now.
Bl**dy amazing pics.
I thought LZ842 was being restored to static, that’s the one with Ross Campbell at Toowoomba isn’t it?
Cheers

Mmm a Siskin,
Another gap to be filled at the RAF Museum. Would make a very nice project for Skysport Engineering.
Cees
Peter,
I didn’t say that, I haven’t looked into the Anson/Halifax throttle similarity as I hadn’t noticed. But I want to make sure as much original material as I can find is incorporated. The Anson throttles could be plan B, if nothing original turns up.
Thanks for the tip. And I always thought I liked planting ideas into other people’s brain ๐

Cees
Ohoh ๐ฎ
Is this a pattern we are seing here?
Cees
Thanks Harm-Jan,
Well, all I can say at the moment is: watch this space
Cheers
Cees
Willy,
So it’s not certain then?
Cees
Perhaps they would be interested in the Short Empire flying boat that sunk near Bodรถ.
