Well lets hope its not another U-571 rewrite of History!
Well as a Yank who loves to come to the UK and has the upmost respect for your nation and its rich military history, let’s hope the writers of the film have a respect for history and will not try to alter that horrible period of history with a complete rewrite of this time period . I remember here seeing the reviews of the WW II film ( U-571) and many of you wanted to do as your army did to our nations capitol in the 1812 war…burn it down ! Well maybe not that angry ! Will give the film a chance and await the critics and those with much historical knowledge of the First World War and will be able to offer a fair review of the film ! So who really did shoot down the Red Baron ????????????? Tough crowd here !!!
A salute from one the 13 original colonies !!!

Thanks for placing the note here on the forum, placed an order for one tonight and can play Pal DVD with no problem. Look forward to your new DVD project and to see a Mossie fly will be nice. Duxford need a Mossie and a P-38 flying there right now..maybe one day it will happen. Wearing out my Spitfire DVD and a real fine tribute to Ray and Mark …great selection of music and shots of MH-434 in action ! Look forward to getting mine in the mail soon….nice to see you have some P-51 action there as well. Back about a year ago there was a discussion here on the forum about a series of DVD’s sold on the Japan Amazon website , with the Old Flying Machine Spitfires and perhaps a Mustang ??? Do you remember this here on this and the AVI-8 forum of folks looking for this series? Sorry I dont remember more and will search the old forum to see if I can locate the story. Thought you might have shot and produced this series as well. Nice to see this project of yours out on the market and look forward to getting this DVD…thanks !

In Fowlmere there is the pub called “The Checkers” where members of the 339thFG hung out and called homed during the war. I know many 339th men who spent some fun times during the war in the that pub and I guess the pub is still there.
A most amazing story and hope they can locate the next of kin , much like the Adrian Warburton story. Let’s pray for some closure for this family. Not the first time I have read of Feild Marshall Rommel talking to captured prisoners , much like he did with the captured British commando as told in the great BBC D-Day documentary 6-6-44 ! Thanks for posting this and what publication did you read this in…a link would be nice if you would be so kind !
Thanks !

Looking forward to that Spitfire DVD Steve !
Steve:
Thanks and will be eager to get this one as well, very nice presentation of the ME-109 on the DVD. The only thing lacking was having BlueNose P-51’s of the 352nd FG chasing down “Black Six” like they did back in 1944-45 ! The photography and editing on the project are excellent. Hope you have a Mustang project in the works. Been working as a television news photojournalist for close to thirty years and always admire the work of photographers, editors who make such wonderful documentaries like you have
made here !

A straffing story involving P-51’s in Germany!
While this is a very senstive subject and any death involving civilians in wartime is a horrible event this story was related to me by some pilot’s of the 339th Fighter Group who flew P-51’s in the Eighth Air Force and were based at Fowlmere near Duxford during the war. After escorting Eighth bombers on a deep raid into Germany the 339th P-51’s went looking for ground targets of opportunity as they returned from the raid. One of its Mustangs had been hit by flak and the pilot had to bail out over a small village in Germany. As he hit the ground in his parachute he was meet by the accounts of some 339th pilots as they flew low over him to see where he landed, attacked by men in the field who had seen him landing in his chute. The Mustang pilots saw this and called out what was going on over the radio and soon the area around this field and village were filled with P-51’s. Hoping their fellow pilot would be captured and made a POW, being young men in war with emotions running high and seeing their fellow pilot killed by those in the field the Mustangs came back and just chewed up the area with their 50’s and made continual straffing runs over this field destroying
German military trucks and anyone who was in the field at the time. The pilots noticed many running out of the field towards this small town located right next to where this action was taking place and made numerous staffing runs their as well. One man expressed his hope that there were no civilians or locals from the village who were involved in this terrible situation but at the time what they observed going on in this field inraged them at the time and they just took on this course of action. From what I have read in the above post it shows that many of you in the UK have had some family members who have experienced being straffed and bomb by the Luftwaffe during WWII. If you look at any gun camera footage shot by allied fighters during the war you have to wonder how many locals and not German troops were killed by this straffing ? A very sad event that happens in any war.

Thanks and good luck on your projects and look forward to seeing more warbird dvd’s from your company. Wondering what year that was at Duxford , when Black 6 flew along side a Spit in October…. 90 -91 ? First time for many of us to hear a real
Dalmer-Benz engine in action. Nice to hear that you considering one on the P-51. Thanks and its nice to have these coming in the mail…an early christmas present for all of us who enjoy warbirds. Nice touch on the tribute to Mr Hannah and his son. I consider myself lucky to have been at Duxford many times to see them fly in person, I am sure many feel the same way.
Thanks Steve !

Steve :
If we live in the States and wish to order one of your Spitfire/Me-109 DVD’s , you stated they can be ordered on Ebay. No problem with Pal..I can play all in a multi-region dvd player I have. Is there a link on your site to order? Thanks and good luck on all your projects.

I would love to see a film made as a tribute to the brave men of the RAF Bomber Command. The Dambuster has already been made and its a great film, would like to see prehaps another story line be written for this film if it’s indeed made. Hope all had a nice christmas and will have a great year in 2006!!!!
