I recall a thread last year much like this one. There was mention of a factory that was reputed to have it’s foundations laid on crated, new Merlins, somewhere near Brum, or Coventry. Anyone else got any info? There was, IIRC a ‘plan’ to excavate this haul through official channels, due to their percieved value and quantity involved.

Always worth following-up rumours, you just never know. If there was a site like this containing tooling and parts, I’d think it more likely at a dispersed site such as the underground engine factory operated by Bristol at Corsham in Wiltshire. There is nothing there now though.

8.30pm – Reconvene in the “Jolly Sailor” pub, a short walk away and drink place dry

There is a bar in the cinema Ashley, it’s closer 😀

    …is there anything I’ve forgotten, Bigglesworth? 🙂
    😀

    Nope, don’t think so Ashley.

    I forgot to add:

*Nearest airfield for those wanting to ‘drop-in’ is RAF Upwood/Nene Valley Gliding Club (PPR) – 20 mins walk to the cinema. Conington, RAF Wyton, Chatteris and several farmstrips are also nearby.

It would be good to put some faces to names.

Mixtec, if it’s on The Register then you can rely on the info.

Jetman, post the specs of your PC and your OP system. AFAIK there was a patch released for FS2000, have you checked for it? FS2000 was very buggy.
Could you not get FS2002 or FSACOF?

Could well be a combination of the two Deano.

Also a something that has puzzled me Steve.
Apparently it is due to the rotor disk (torque/gyroscopics) causing a slight tilt to the fuselage/body, particularly in the hover.
The pilot is generally, but not always seated on the right to help balance out the some of the forces.

The Isaacs Spit (as far as I can remember) has no electrics – swing that prop, baby!!

Quite right Daz, BBJI has no starter motor, I swung that prop a few times.

Radio was a very small handheld unit.

^^^No, no, no Auster Fan! It’s KYLIE, everyone should know that by now 😀 😉

I think Janie is too busy trying to educate young Ruprecht…

Melv, I wonder if we could blindfold Ruprecht and test it out?

Mixtec, I guess I could have been a bit clearer in what I said. Informative link, thanks for that.

Your welcome Deano. Much head scratching was done to get mine running across both monitors. Tip: look in the Key assignments, re-assign keys as you like.

There was a very short piece on Anglia TV News tonight, not much said about the flight though.

All the very best of luck to him I say.

Jeanske, 256mb memory on a graphics card is really a bit of overkill, atleast until PCIe interface is readily available.

    ^^^Mixtec, 😉

PCI is much slower than even AGP (which is the current, primary graphics card interface on the Motherboard). PCIe on the other hand is like comparing a old Skoda to a Lamborghini Diablo.
