MiG-27 always was a crocodile.
+1 old shape
Even without Camp David agreement ($2.5 bln is not just a digit) US got back every penny that its donate (90% or so of it never lives the country). In direct or indirect way. US gov never did charity, dont worry Sens 😉
The manufacturer got paid for 12 Yak-130 for RuAF and 16 for Algeria, but RuAF is planning to buy 40-60 till 2012 (2015?) and up to 200 overall for replacing L-39. Although some people say that 100 is more realistic.
Your welcome, my friend.

KAPO General Director is Vasil Kayumov. The plane has been named after Vitaly Kopylov, who led the Kazan aviation enterprise in 1973-1993. He killed himself after his conception of building military plains was rejected.
Sadly, but I understand russian. The main message of the documentary: stupid americans thought they stole our secrets – no, KGB desinformated them and billions dollars spend on aircrafts we can shoot. But we have some device (of cause we wont show it) that really works – plasm generators for plains and tanks; radars and rockets that “does not have analogs in the world.”
Russia has flight-tested a MiG-29K/KUB carrier fighter

Two modernized fighter jets supplied to Russian Air Force
MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax-AVN) – Two modernized Mikoyan MiG-31BM fighter jets were supplied to the Lipetsk pilot training center on Thursday.
“The modernized planes are equipped with radar and satellite navigation systems which allow them to detect air and land targets with high precision and successfully destroy missiles, including small-size cruise missiles, and supersonic enemy aircraft,” Russian Air Force Assistant Commander Col. Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax-AVN.
He said the Sokol plant based in Nizhny Novgorod had modernized the jets.
“The Lipetsk center will test the combat abilities of the MiG-31BM and teach pilots and technicians to operate the modernized jet,” he said.
^^ Replacing the Su-33? I haven’t heard of a naval PAK FA yet. Does Russia even intend to keep her carriers?
Yes, of course she intend. But carrier, not carriers 🙂 Sailors hoped that India wouldnt take Gorshkov, but she did.
Generally, when I read opinion about aircraft here I think – those people know what they are talking about (mostly). But now I am quite confused – same people write a lot about the topic they… not quite familiar with. I am Russian and those comments are very amusing (not bothering me) and far from true.
Russians like all other nations think very different things about their army. Now not the Stalins times and those who wants to know capable to achieve any information western reader can achieve and a lot more. Although it’s true about a lot of people that didn’t go to the army, but not like at West. Don’t forget, you have to go even if you don’t want to, so it is pretty hard to sell journalistic BS to somebody who did the army for 2-3 years, so they know how old their airplanes and how “good” their ships. Lots of them were at war (I mean real one, not like UN missions) and not only in Chechnia and used those weapons quite recently, and even if not, once a couple of years they are going to reservists practice and can see personally what is the army. Now multiply number of those people on their family members and friends and you’ll see that Russian knows about their army at least twice more then average westerners.
Kfirs will be delivered to Colombia at the beginning of next year
