If it weren’t for looks the blended winglets may not of appeared on the commercial aircraft at all – according to the Mar 09 issue of AW. 🙂
Some airlines do indeed take the looks into consideration. If you see (Even a brand new) 737 without Winglets it looks very old hat indeed.
The APB blended winglets work in terms of efficiency. If the penny-pinching-toilet-charging Irishman has them on, they will be saving him money!
Biz jets with winglets are, in the main, totally for looks. We call them Blinglets.
Steve,
you will enjoy a film called “Greed”. Made in 1924. It is only 4 hours long, cut from the original 10.
From a book called McTeague.
There was a fillum 2004 of the same name but that is not what you need to look for.

Lidl is walking distance from Morrisons, in our nearest town which is 5 miles away. Tesco is 12 miles away, out in “Gimme 6” country.
Somerfield is walkable from home.

As someone with a good head on their shoulders and has had experience in a customer service role, I would say this: I reckon everyone should have at least one days experience behind a till or desk. Just so everyone realises what utter (often unprovoked and unnecessary) nonsense and agro customer service staff often have to face.
Saying that; the original point made by BSG also rings true. Some of these people serving the customers are about as dim-witted as they come and are the kind of people that put old shape off going into a shop!
Ney ney ney….I’m not put off going into a shop because of that. (a) We just don’t like the time wasted at w/e when we could sit on the patio or similar. Tried Internet (Tesco) shopping but we didn’t like that either. (b) I don’t like spending money LoL.
(c) We hit Lidl for the majority of Fruit n Veg, Morrisons for the majority of meat and “Stuff” and then get top-ups from the local Somerfiedld

…I thinks she’s gone.
I agree it’s a waste of taxpayers money. The phone calls at the daily business rates are expensive. To find out the weight is only useful if you know the height and the ethnic backround. A 6 foot black guy will be heavier than a 6 foot white guy. A 16 stone guy that is 6 foot 6 is not fat.
“White men can’t jump” as the expression says…but can be expanded by “Black men can’t swim”. Bones like steel!
It’s a Government thing, so how on Earth can it be right.

I always treat service people with the utmost courtesy…i treat people the way i would expect to be treated…if you think about it most people in the service industry are not highly educated and probably have low self esteem and therefor don’t have the Social or interactive skills that most people do…treat everybody with respect and most of the time you’ll get it in return!!!
Basically, that is the end result of my tome above. I avoid those I am likely to have an issue with, so my experiences tend to be fine.

Well maybe ‘genious’ was an over-kill term but I just think it’s a fun tool that people will enjoy using to browse around the world, famous cities etc.
Granted it won’t give me anything new but I don’t see what Google Street View gives in place of asking questions. For example if I ask the manager of my Washington hotel about the area he’s hardly going to say it’s a sh*t hole is he ;).
With Google SV I can know the truth :diablo::D.
Phone the local cops. They are the most helpful.
GE SV is a great fun tool. I love it as a fun tool. The downside of ALL SW technology is that it WILL be abused.
(Says he, using uTorrent whilst typing about SW morals!!!!!!!!!! LoL)

Now you see that is the kind of generalization I was referring to earlier.
All I’m saying is I work as a full time Supervisor where I work but not being a fully fledged manager yet I wear the same uniform as the “part-timers earning some beer money” and I agree some are damn useless but I’m a hard worker and with an opinion like that it may well be shining off of you when you come to ask them a question.
I deal with enough customers a day to know who are genuine and those who are looking at me like some form of lower life , I’m not saying you are one of those people old shape but this is the exact opinion I think alot of people will have.
I am old and wise enough to establish an accurate opinion of a person from their dress, gait, actions, facial expressions, poise. The general non-verbal comms which actually convey 95% of the message in communication. The person does not need to speak, I make a judgement and avoid or aproach them. My judgement has not let me down. We as humans can make a decision on a person in 4 seconds, you know if you like them or not. Only if you try and unpick that (Because it’s not a PC thing to be judgemental) do problems arise and mistakes are made, wrong people get through interviews etc.
So, if I have an issue with a store, I seek the assistant that looks to me to (a) Full time, (b) the issues as above (c) A badge with “Manager” on it.
I avoid the ones I am likely to have an issue with, due to the above.
In the case of dealing with people, generalisations tend to be about 80 – 90% accurate. You, on the receiving end of a lottery of people coming through the door have to treat each one as your brother or sister or you could get the sack because some no-mark chav/pikey complains that you treated them as a chav/pikey.
As you are a trainee Mgr, then differ yourself from the part-timers in some professional way (I dunno what game you are in so can’t advise shirt/tie etc.)
Anyway, you’ll probably be getting all the above from college.
