It seems an accurate statement to me.

Some of the best of contemporary British cuisine hides behind labels like “Indian”, “Chinese”, etc.

You’ll struggle to find a Chicken Tikka Masalla in India, that’s for sure! 🙂

    Yep, invented in London.
What’s the Chinese dish invented in San Fran? Is it Chop Suey?

Thats taking it a bit too far,

    It’s also wrong.
And furthermore, words have been put in my mouth, Israel IS defending itself, otherwise we’d have to do it.
If we get involved, we drag it out for years, lose lots of good men.
At least Israel believes in the short sharp shock.

    Commander JB.
Can’t disagree with your last post.
However, this very forum is Modern Military Avaiation, a lot of people here are involved in “War”. We all discuss the benefit of better weapons etc. we therefore cannot condemn those who prove they work. War is not the answer, but is always used as a necessity strategy to get to the answer. And innocents will always be killed, by accident from those who value life and on purpose by those who don’t.

    Objective, press? Oxymoron isn’t it.

If you want 5 different reports of the same incident, BBC TV, ITV (ITN news), Sky, Euro News and finally the BBC World Service on the Radio. The latter is apallingly off tack – mustn’t upset the ex pats, dumb down the bad and increase the good. It’s like Listen with Mother compared to the news channels.

As for the protests in London and elsewhere, it boils my p155 to know that good men died in Spitfires to keep the very freedom they are abusing.

Did it not used to be US policy to bury the kit when they moved out of a base? It was cheaper to buy new than to ship it all back?

There is supposed to be hundreds of Jeeps and US Aeroplanes under the Burtonwood site. Some unused.
This stuff was burried when the base stopped being used for fixed wing, the US didn’t actually move out for 20+ years after that.

Very well; according to this source, it was 23 at June last year, drawing on incidents going all the way back to 2001. Which does not exactly match up all that well. Even drawing on the fact that more people have probably died since June ‘disproportionate’ seems a little too delicate a word.

Well, the source seems Kosher enough. But why is it disproportionate, simple arithmetic? That doesn’t count here.
Israel would just sit there in the land it was forced to have. Other cultures surrounding it seem to think the land is still theirs and have been constantly poking at the hornets nest and getting stung. Israel has never launched an unprovoked attack. Sure, the press soon jump on the fact that she has retaliated!!

These other cultures do not hold life in the same forsaken way that Christians / Jews do. One terror attack upon Israel deserves the might of a few F-16 taking out the launch site or suspected homes of the terrorists. Of course, if the bad guys want to hide in the house of an innocent, then that’s yet another fundamental brainwashed problem of the people. You can’t specify which room you want with an LGB, they are big, targetting is accurate enough for 1 metre but the hole it makes is a little larger. (It’s not worth putting the cost into a smaller munition unless it’s a close range ground weapon)
The only way to sort out a brainwashed bully is indeed to pulverise him to a total submission, but world opinion seems to always force Israel to pull short of the final winning goal.
The war on terror is also “Those who harbour terrorism”, as I said, if Israel wasn’t doing us the favour we’d be losing troops.

I thought it was more common than posts in the thread suggest.

You can also see one (Mail plane from ship) in one of Harold Lloyds’ films…possibly “Feet First” but I’m not sure.

I doubt that the two thousand Palestinian civilians in hospital and their four hundred dead kinsmen agree that Israel ‘continues to do no wrong’.
    .

Please also list the qty of Israeli citizens.
Ah well, you’ve obviously picked your side and I’ve picked mine. Well, mine’s been the same for 40+ years.
Israel is doing the west a favour here, otherwise we’d have to go in and sort out the rubbish. Under the paper tiger flag of the UN, US/UK and other nations troops would be all over the Gaza too. Let Israel do a proper job of it, and be thankful.
