Nice pics as ever, love the ‘mask’ on the P47!

At least the poor B-17 won’t have the C47 weeing oil on it again for a while now 😮

Ah great news:) I take it the installed Mambas are timed out?

No, just knackered! IIRC some chaps came from Rolls Royce, looked at it and said ‘go away and get another one’.

I believe the museum are hoping to acquire a serviceable powerplant for her. The electrics are live and I have seen her all lit up. Fingers crossed the engine hunt bears fruit…

I thoroughly enjoyed my first aerojumble venture to Newark. I’ve just got to source the instruments to fill the Vulcan instrument panel I bought off you now! 😮

“There seems to be something missing from the cockpit guys, the book says there should be a stick about this long with one end attached to the floor. Is it important?!”

    I second the above! 😉

at least with the smart phone I have now always got a camera, although not necessarity the best for every job!!

My phone has a decent camera too, but unfortunately I didn’t have time to stop to take a pic.
The drive on deserted roads from Elvington to Bridlington in the B at that hour of the day had me smiling too. Apart from having the bl**dy sun in my eyes most of the way! 😎

“wasn’t me that bent the undercarriage on your aircraft mate, and I can prove it. If you look at the photo you’ll see my hands are nowhere near the controls…”

judging by the undercarriage, the extra large helping of pie at lunchtime before an afternoon session of circuits and bumps was probably unwise after all…

setting off for work at 05.15 this morning, and as I turned out onto the main road seeing the Victor bathed in the light of a glorious sunrise. A proper ‘damn where’s the camera’ moment.

Tony’s doing some more work on the engines to make sure they’re 100% spot on before he tries them. Which would have been mentioned in the Flypast article on YAM a couple of months ago instead of the flip comment about the Mozzie having the engines and props back on soon, had they been able to speak to someone who actually knows what’s going on with that aircraft…
As Tony says, it has to be right as it’s perfectly capable of killing someone if it’s not absolutely right. When he’s happy with his pride and joy it’ll be back together and run. I for one can’t wait! 😀
