It’d involve at least several months of spending your Sundays chasing snags, getting cold, wet and frustrated, swearing profusely, losing skin and blood, cursing whoever’s bright idea it was to fit that component there and put that sharp bit there, wrestling with 50-year old fastenings, you get the idea. It’s great fun! And yes I do mean that, I’d not be involved otherwise. At the minute we’ve a good but slightly smaller than ideal team, and the bacon sarnies, very nice Sunday dinners and an inexhaustible supply of coffee to hand can only be a good thing! 😀

Cheers L7, it was a great relief when the Artouste struck up and didn’t leak! Have you seen the videos on the 231 work diary thread? Taxying dates still TBC, watch this space…

Not something I really do to be honest, motorizing. But I can appreciate it’d work well on such as the Stuka.
Bet you’re bored of the AWACS, took me a couple of goes to motivate to finish the B-36 and the KC135!
Just waiting for my next project to land now…! ;):D

Cheers Ben. It’d be easy to motor it if you were into that sort of thing. Let me know how you get on with the Stuka, I may also get one.

how will I recognise yourself to say hello (will you be the one with a cuppa in one hand and a bacon sarnie in the other ;):D)

Nope that’d be any one of the Nimrod crew! :diablo:
Enough pics of my ugly mug on the XL231 Work Diary thread; pm me sometime the week before you’re looking to visit so I know to look out for you!

ps do you let passengers in the cockpit on the fast taxy runs (for a fee of course!)

Sadly not, it’s crew only for taxy runs. The dreaded H&S…
Don’t forget you can also follow the progress of both us and the Nimrod on Facebook; just search for XL231 and XV250 🙂
