OK I’m going to go further now. The children deserve every chance in life and good quality parenting- how are they going to get that from a mother who can’t even look after herself and has squandered the most precious gift anyone can be given? They’d do better without this miserable excuse for a parent.
As to your question Joey- you probably won’t like this but… If my daughter had got herself into this state, been given a second chance and then screwed that up too, then sorry but she’d be on her own.
I know this may seem harsh, but I make no apologies for that- it is an emotive subject. And maybe my own circumstances contribute to what some may call my ‘extreme’ views on this.
…Was typing this as PMN was typing his, apologies for any similarities!

Well said PMN. Phrase involving ‘horse’ and ‘water’ leaps to mind.

Can’t have been the PS3 it was playing on- they’re all down with the Millenium Bug apparently!

Hell life’s too short not to! 😀

I have only one kidney, due to illness when I was 5. I sure as hell ain’t stupid enough to do anything to jeopardise the one I’ve got left and run myself out of chances. This lass is that stupid however, and she’s squandered her second chance so tough.

Be needing a shovel then! 🙂

The citizen in question has a duty and responsibility to use the second chance given to them by caring compassionate society wisely and responsibly. If they fail to grab this chance with both hands and use it wisely then tough on them.
While there’s no question of leaving someone to die in a situation such as an RTA, someone with a history of wasting organs and chances is a different matter and should not be given the opportunity to do so again. That, to me, is just throwing it back in the faces of both the donor (or donor’s family) and the medical team.
