Many years ago, it was stated that there was an approved repair method for TV959’s wing.

I found it extremely hard to believe then and having thought about it on the odd occasion since, I still don’t really believe it.

Don’t ask where I read it, I haven’t a clue, it was donkey’s years ago, but there’s a possibility it was TFC as IIRC it was them that did the deal to rescue the remains, and the rest of the wing, from Lambeth.

From what I’ve read here, I’m fairly confident he has no idea what the word ‘shame’ means, if indeed he’s ever even heard of it.

I assume the number of mugs who sign up to fund his inflated income are diminishing?

Thank you, although I visit this particular forum so rarely – as does pretty much everybody else it seems – I wouldn’t normally know.

However, it does beg the question – if it isn’t part of your day job, is it anybody’s?

I guess not, which would confirm the generally, although not universally, held opinion that having ruined the forum, Key Publishing don’t care about it now.

    Thank you, Richard.

You’ve obviously cleared a few more out, or were in the middle of doing it, when I posted that.

I think these are the only two left now.

I appreciate your doing it, but some of them dated back many months!

I complained on Saturday, I think, and at last somebody has had a fairly half-hearted attempt at clearing some of the dross out.

I say half-hearted because there are still 7 instances of spam on the first page alone, and beyond belief, still one in their own Forum Updates section.

Some of it went back months so it’s patently obvious that nobody actually cares, and if somebody is supposed to be responsible for it, they’re failing miserably.

Funniest looking “stone” I’ve ever seen, but as I haven’t passed by it for a couple of years, I’ll put it down to old age and forgetfulness.

The Sea Hawk on the gate at Culdrose (HMS Seahawk) is mounted on a low stone structure.

That’s appears low from the car when driving past. I don’t know how low it is if you’re standing next to it.

What looked like a Jet Provost heading north near Chesterfield at around 11.30, give or take 30 minutes or so, roughly following the line of the M1.

That puzzled me until I clicked the link.

I knew Humbrol had a Hunter years ago but didn’t associate it with Airfix.

Have you seen the Halifax panel Blue_2  is doing for Elvington?

If I’ve read it correctly on his thread on “Airshows”, he’s got replica instruments or faces from Replitek.

According to Key, traffic on the forum’s increasing. Or rather, they said it was a year or so ago. From what starting point wasn’t specified.

I don’t blame the moderator in the slightest for removing the quote function, although I’m pretty sure it couldn’t have been him that did it, as it was ludicrously over-used.

Far too many posts were quoting all of the immediately preceding post, or an entire post for only one relevant comment, which was just ridiculous. After many requests and then warnings, which were pretty well universally ignored, I assume it was the Webmaster who acted.

It wasn’t “playing nice” – it was using the brain to think if it was necessary and more often than not, it wasn’t.

I’ve no idea where Lee Howard lurks these days but I imagine he would have an idea, or at least know where to look.

It’s classic Ray Hanna, but actually proving it is a different matter.

I’m surprised it’s actually possible to start them without a propeller, although I suppose 12 cylinders helps, as the prop is effectively a flywheel.
